PlayStation to Shut Down New Game ‘Concord’ Two Weeks After Launch, Will Refund Players
  • I never heard of this game, except for how poorly it's performed. I didn't see any sneak peaks, or ads on the Playstation store. I didn't hear about it from friends or guildies.

I know that's a sample size of one, but no one I know or play games with had it in their radar at all. This game showed up one weekend with some drama over psn accounts or something, then flopped and I still know almost nothing about the actual game.

I saw more information on The Finals than I saw on this.

This company sells real human skulls. It claims all of its skulls are ethically sourced. How do you ethically source a human skull for sale to a random buyer?
  • Look, if someone cut me a cheque right now, for payment of my bones when I'm done with them I'd take it in an instant.

That's not what's happening here, those are likely bodies that didn't meet the grade for medical/scientific use so they were sold off, which is gross and shitty.

However, bidding on my meat carcass starts at $5000.

This Brazil-Twitter stuff is hilarious. Great leadership Muskrat.
  • I mean, yes in theory, but it's also a social contract. We shouldn't allow people who advocate for violence or harm against other people.

There should be no censorship in theory. In theory, communism works. In theory.

J.D. Vance Booed by Entire Crowd During Dumpster Fire Speech
  • This was the weirdest thing. That dude had energy, and it tanked his run. One time he did a weird thing and it ruined his chances, now we're counting the weird things people do daily and it has no effect.

Gen Z is actually taking sick days, unlike their older coworkers. It’s redefining the workplace
  • Naw, it wasn't a bad experience overall, once I fell into the habit of mixing sick days with vacation days.

They had some exploitable policies, doctors notes for 3+ sick days in a row but no questions asked about 1-2 days, vacation days with 2 weeks notice one day at a time with no right of refusal if there's proper coverage.

This meant you could book Wednesday to Friday off two weeks in a row, and call in sick Monday/Tuesday two weeks in a row, giving you 10 days off for the cost of 4 sick/ 6 vacay. Other exploitable shenanigans were possible around Stat holidays.

The front line managers knew what the situation was, but HR never got wind unless something tripped the system,so if everyone works together on their sick days it was pretty good.

Gen Z is actually taking sick days, unlike their older coworkers. It’s redefining the workplace
  • I worked really hard at my first year at a big company and didn't take any sick days. During my performance review, I scored 4/5 for attendance, even though I arrived early for every shift and did every overtime opportunity. When I asked my manager, she said it's policy not to hand out 5's because it sends the message that there's no room for improvement.

No one could tell me how I could improve my attendance.

6800XT connected to PSU via single cable
  • The manufacturer is concerned that they will be pulling a ton of power from both connectors. Sometimes the second connector is just for ancillary power silly or balancing, in this instance they are saying that they're planning on your card pulling as much power as possible.

You might find that in heavy situations, or on hot days, your power supply overcurrent will trip out and your system will crash. If you have the second connector, I'd connect it, and if you're worried about having a plug dangle around just tie it back with a tywrap or some electrical tape so it's nice and clean.

Microsoft donates the Mono Project to the Wine team
  • I can't help but think that Microsoft has decided to proceed in some way that will break compatibility, so they're done with Mono now.

I know it's skeptical, but I just have no faith in that company to act in good faith with anything.

Black Myth: Wukong Devs Told Streamers to Avoid Politics in Their Playthroughs. It Backfired
  • When the story broke, my wife and I discussed it a bit, and I mentioned that I hadn't even heard of the game before all this.

If it was deliberate marketing, it was really well done.

    Cords
  • I did this.
Is it stupid? Yes. Did it work? Also yes. For the amount of time that we'd have power out, it was just way to easy to throw a breaker and connect it like this just to keep a small heater and a light running. If I had the money at the time I would have loved battery backup/ bypass but this cost $2 and an old cord.
