  • This is the one of the only way Germans can expand after the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. For more information on the other form of land expansion, google German expansion 69

Well, at least they know they are annoying...
  • Naw, these are extremely frustrating. They make navigating websites super difficult for anyone using a screen reader. Websites are supposed to have a certain level of accessibility by law that 97% of them don't follow.

I've decided to pick up trash picking as a hobby
  • I went to a super busy park while my wife was at a nearby doctor's appointment and I picked up trash in a small area for 40 minutes. There were trash cans EVERYWHERE and people couldn't be bothered. That was super rough on my back, I'll have to get one of those grabby gun things next time.

    Keep doing the good work!

    WE NEED MODERATORS
  • Not sure how many mods you're looking to add but I'd like to help out. I'm a speech/debate coach for elementary through college level competors so while I don't have moderating experience online I perform very similar duties on my day-to-day jobs... You would not believe the shit that comes out of the mouths of 9y/o children.... Before migrating over to federated systems, on reddit I was u/AudioBoss. I'm a dirty trans commie (they/them); I don't fuck with tankies, fascists, TERFs, etc. I got halfway through a masters program in human communication with an emphasis on critical/cultural studies (studies of activism, oppressive systems, meta-studies of Academia, etc) before dropping out to raise a kid coming in January.

I work with kids so I have a ton of viable experience towards moderating you all /j

Questions: how much time would you expect each mod to dedicate each day or week? How often (if ever) would the mods discuss the community?

    pilk rule
  • Can confirm, I've also tried this. As well as Almond Peggnog (not great), Original Palpico (eh) and Porchata (not bad) but Pilk is still my favorite.

Why do most US lawsuits settle instead of going to trial?
  • They were not technically incarcerated (according to the law). They willingly (read: forcably) signed a contract to "work" despite most black folks at the time being unable to read due to laws not allowing anyone to teach them to read. This was before chain gangs existed.

Why do most US lawsuits settle instead of going to trial?
  • Not so fun fact this was popularized by white sherrifs on freed slaves after the emancipation proclamation because the "free" black people couldn't pay a fine of walking parallel to railroads, selling goods, QUITING A JOB, or whatever other stupid bullshit was pulled. So they were leased out by the state like tools and were often worked harder than when they were slaves because there was no incentive to keep them healthy as the state was charging less than a tenth of what they were "worth" as slaves. Anyway the process of settling continued and is mostly a way to reduce sentencing and cost. I hate this country 🙃

  • When I get that error, I screenshot the image I'm trying to share and it seems to get around the issue. Your image might be too big or have an unsupported file type

Are you replacing Reddit with Lenny?
  • I left during the blackout. I use reddit occasionally for specific questions I can't find anywhere else. It's a shit hole, but an old and useful shit hole.

  • Isn't the point to generate more content instead of shitty text posts that just say rule?
