After checking what Game Atelier, the devs of GOAT metroidvania Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom have been up to, I discovered that their upcoming game, which has a demo on Steam right now, is called Otherskin and reminds me in more ways than not of Metroid Prime.
You're a woman who's crash-landed on a alien planet where the ruins of an ancient civilization have been lying dormant, while they are increasingly being infested by "the corruption". The game plays in a third-person perspective (which is where it differs from Metroid Prime the most) and you jump and shoot and kill enemies to absorb their powers, be they grappling hooks, bombs, or even a super-jump that makes you fly into the air. I cannot fault the game for its high ambitions - and the graphics look wonderful and the gameplay is nice. There's some rough edges, too - I am confused as to why there isn't a map system. Gonna check back once it releases for sure though.
Pretty sure the only way is cloud gaming via Edge (which, yes, has a Linux version)
The GOG version doesn't come with widescreen and controller support. I had to install a custom widescreen patch for the game and use AntiMicroX to enable controller support.
This whole thing has been a frustrating ordeal for trans people in Germany.
The founder of Wagner, Dmitry "Wagner" Utkin, was also on board.
That doesn't allow you to update the game though, so it doesn't work out great for new games with frequent updates and a large download file size.
I'm getting quite fond of the coining of this concept of "enshittification".
Gut so. Es gibt noch viel zu tun, unter anderem günstigere Sozialtickets, aber diese Nachricht ist erfreulich.
A Game Boy clone console that can play original Game Boy (Color/Advance) cartridges with a terrific screen and support for many more systems' ROMs via OpenFPGA.
But the end is the "best" part, the one where using systemd causes the literal(!) apocalypse.
The Fedora software app has been promoting flatpaks over native packages, even not displaying that native packages are available even if they are, requiring the command line tool to access some native packages. So I don't see how this is fundamentally different.
The fight against cancer is a fight against ableist systems of oppression like what you're talking about here. I'm sorry for what you had to go through.
What format do y'all enjoy playing the most? I love the deckbuilding freedom in Commander and I'm kinda addicted to optimizing my decks. Some week I put more cantrips in all of my decks, another time I'm thinking I need more graveyard hate and slot more Scavenger Grounds in my decks.
It's easy to discover communities on my instance via the dedicated page in the hamburger menu. But let's say I want to follow a community on another instance, such as !lemmy@lemmy.ml . I might have found its name mentioned in a post or comment. When I click on the provided link, I'm thrown on that instances web page, from which I of course can't subscribe.
So what I instead have to do is to copy the description of the link and paste it in my instance's search bar. Which isn't easy, since it's a link, so there isn't even a straightforward way to select the link text without clicking the link. This seems very unintuitive and makes the process of joining a whole bunch of communities tedious. Is there a better way?
As a cancer patient I was heavily opposed to the "fight" language as well. I just broke down and cried a lot after my diagnosis.
