Wait, purposely excluding sizable segments of the market led to less sales? No way. Someone should note this down.
What is this title
I think maybe a better thing to do is to include a new label for the cover of the game box and digital storefronts stating something like "This game contains simulated or real gambling," rather than an instant R18+ rating. Mario Party being R18+ for example is a bit excessive, IMO.
So a game that has a casino in it, regardless of whether it needs the player to spend real money or not, is going to have to be rated R18+? I wonder what this means for games like Mario on the DS or some Mario Party titles.
Also, "in-game purchases with an element of chance," does that mean any element of chance or a chance to not win? As an example, if I spend money for a currency in a gacha game, and then trade that currency for some character pulls, does that count? There is an element of chance, but I am guaranteed to win something. Essentially, I paid for a character, and I still get a character, I just don't know which one I will get. I am curious if there is any nuance to this choice or if they just used the black and white blanket like most politicians do.
EDIT: Also, lol at anyone thinking kids care about the rating system. You all know you played GTA when you were like 7.
That is true, but sometimes technology advances and it gets difficult to get the older titles to play nice with newer hardware. That doesn't mean the gameplay needs to be completely changed up in the next iteration.
back to basics
Boy, haven't we heard this one before?
Oh, before Battlefield V. And then again before 2042. Not sparking a whole lot of confidence.
The best thing they could do is trash their current engine and just open the source for Battlefield 4. Swap out the graphics renderer with a newer one and make minor adjustments to the rest of the source code. BF4 was nearly perfect on a mechanical level, bugs not withstanding. If they get the bugs ironed out there is no reason I would see for them to have to make changes to the framework of the game, and then they can do what EA has been doing with their sports games for forever. Easy money AND the players are happy.
People who like Civ usually don't like it when y'all make changes, so it's kinda surprising that Civ changes so much.
Real hair does this, so unless you find a wig with built in AC, you just gotta deal with it like everyone else.
This is the webpage for the project. It will have everything you want to know, and if you can't find it there or the forums, there is also a wiki.
But if I use upscaling, I don't have to optimize my game and can do less work and charge more money!

This is classic Japan "don't harm public morals" grand standing. Japanese culture puts on a good mask to show everyone else how good and clean they are, but go take a look at their fan mangas and old video games and that mask doesn't just come off, it flings itself off like a pinball from the plunger runway.
I like Japan, but they really gotta get a grip on some stuff. Particularly this "public morals" facade, their awful defamation laws, their work culture, and their insistence on allowing Japanese businesses to attempt to apply Japanese laws in jurisdictions and countries that the laws do not and can not apply.
They deleted content I paid for. I couldn't be happier to see Bungie collapse.
The Bungie I knew and loved died when they got rid of Marty, and later Joe Staten.
Suck on eggs, Jason Jones.
Star Wars Galaxies private servers are not a good experience. They don't allow two players from the same IP, so if you live with someone you want to play with you have to tell them, then send them pictures of BOTH copies of the discs and you and the other person's hands. They hide behind "preventing gold farmers" but like, who is actually going to be a gold farmer in a private server, and who actually cares if they did? The other 25 players in the server?
Nah, I'm good.
City of Heroes has been golden by comparison.
343 didn't purchase Halo, Microsoft purchased it from Bungie and then licensed it to Bungie, then transferred the license to 343 after Reach launched.
But other than that, you are correct on the other stuff.
This list actually put AC Shadows, I'm dying. Way to out yourselves, Polygon.
If they don't come with a heatsink, they're usually fine to run without a heatsink. Just check reviews for the ssd to see if they have overheating issues.
I haven't found m2 ssds to get very hot, personally. Only when copying extremely large files or big amounts of files that take longer than 10 or so minutes I have seen temperatures in the 60s (C), but usually its down near 50 or less.
Shocker
If I am going to be looking at my character for a large amount of time, or hearing them make sus noises in my ear when they get hurt, there better be a girl option.
If what he did is illegal, what is anyone going to do about it though? Two people with no money are going to sue each other? Perhaps maybe a law firm would want to get involved, but I can't see how this even gets enforced other than everyone forking to code anyway and completely ignoring the new terms since they wouldn't apply.
AFAIK, no. The tests you can get won't show exactly how much viral load you have, only that you have enough to trigger the test to return a positive result.
I am getting kinda sick of constantly not being able to post comments on seemingly random posts due to this error.
The instance is English, the post title is English, and my comment is in English. I have even logged into my instance website to change the language settings to have both "Undetermined" and "English" selected, and that still doesn't work. Not all posts have this problem, and not even posts in just one community or instance. Seems like the error is completely random.
I have to imagine this is an error specific to Connect for Lemmy, since I don't get the same error if I comment from my web browser. It seems to come from Connect for Lemmy not having an option to set the comment language when posting? Can that be corrected please?
