  • I like this article and modernizing library beyond literature is a really good thing.

Although the greater issue is that a large part of the population seems to consider things like libraries to be to socialized if they didn't already exist.

  • As usual backing this person up with another example with National Post is not worth reading: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/topstories/pierre-poilievre-the-liberals-must-get-out-of-the-way-of-growth/ar-AA1OvuGh

There's been a lot of these posts recently that essentially just equate to China to doing things in their interest and is a threat Canada. Continuously circling these obvious things isn't conducive to having productive conversation.

Canada and Canadian's obviously want diversify beyond China and the US but look the context for canola. Those 2 make up 86.8% of our exports there really isn't anyway to divest away from them substantially given the current market.

    https://www.canolacouncil.org/markets-stats/top-markets/

Then look a car production. I've seen no indication that Japan, Korean and Germany companies want to set up shop or increase production capacity here.

  • Asked what will happen to the Brampton plant, a spokesperson for Stellantis said, "Canada is very important to us. We have plans for Brampton and will share them upon further discussions with the Canadian government."

According to the article they still plan to use it, but it certainly sounds like they're fishing for subsidies.

  • I haven't seen it talked about here but there was a update a while ago to hide your entire Post and Comment history on Reddit.

They might as well do away with user names at a certain point and use a randomised UID every posts since there little to no credibility attach to accounts now.

  • For anyone going through my profile they can clearly see my problem is with poor and heavily bias sources. This has been done for Postmedia, Fraser Institute, Globe and Mail, The Canadian Press, individual reporters and even CBC with examples and links.

If you're referring to the comment about the other guy who's pretty much only posts about China. I think you were blinded by criticism of your post.

The comment I made showed that a company that's been around much longer than Tiktok has even existed and was caught doing the same if not worse things with no actions from essentially any government.

You guys view it as a distraction to the narrative that China is only country we should be focused on instead someone contextualizing the threats as a whole due to your bias.

  • Update: CP seems to think things will start getting out next Tue but people should be reminded that it was CP the initiated the previous lock out.

Canadians should start receiving mail again on Tuesday, after Canada Post workers shift from nationwide strike action to a rotating strike on Saturday morning.

MLI was described in 2012 as one of a new generation of similarly- minded think tanks to the Fraser Institute in a story published in the National Post. [401 The social democratic Broadbent Institute referred to the MacDonald-Laurier Institute as a "right-wing charity" in a 2018 article.141] MLI is one of ten Canadian think tanks that belong to the Atlas Network, a conservative and libertarian group.[10][11][42][43] MLI describes itself non-partisan. • I don't see it mentioned much or in the article but the data is actually probably even worse than it looks.

It counts a lot people working gig jobs as being employed or even boasted as self employed sometimes. The quality of those jobs is substantially lower than more traditional jobs.

  • We're more than a decade into this and barely anything has been done about it. Not only that but the specific company involved is now one of the largest companies in the world.

At the end of the day every country will have to deal with every social media app.

Edit: Just to point out OP has a very significant interest in China as you can see in their profile.

  • FYI the Telus/Koodo Call Control works better for the caller and receiver in my opinion.

You turn it on and any non white listed number has to dial a random number to get through. 100% block rate since I've used it and the feature is the only reason I have any amount of loyalty towards specific carriers.

  • I read the whole article and as someone who's voted NDP multiple time. I don't find what was conveyed particularly compelling.

Within the NDP party the general ideology and what was said really doesn't stand out.

  • When you're exposed to people that worked jobs their entire life with no extended benefits then gets a job with them you'll realize how much of a mental hurdle this type of thing is sometimes.

The application process also leaves something to be desired.

This is good news and somewhat unexpected:

Health Canada also now says close to 100 per cent of active dentists, denturists and independent dental hygienists are treating patients through the program. It's a significant milestone considering initial uptake from dentists was low.

  • Out of the pandering they do this is probably the most dangerous one.

Christians aren't inherently bad, but Christian who thinks the Bible says Trump is a good person is a real problem.

Christian nationalism is making a real strong comeback and somewhat overtly so culture wise like clothing and media.

  • His selectiveless in speaking to the media has seemingly made journalists go easy on him in interviews from what I've seen.

Not sure if they're screening the questions or the people know they're not getting another interview unless they feed him some softballs.

  • From the data listed the chart I'm surprised adding more MRI's isn't low hanging fruit. As expensive as they are should be able to recupe their cost fairly quickly. In context it's relatively straightforward monetary investment that would essentially eliminate the need to at the very least send people out of country.

  • The changes don't really alter those situations only makes them more prevalent.

Overall the "main" roomate or the person who really want the keys has them and just drops the mail on the counter.

After that would be usual dispute that involving landlords or legal entities. Which would usually involve more keys being made available, someone else holding onto them, PO boxes, etc.
