what's your favorite thing to put on fries that isn't ketchup?
  • If it's just fries, then nothing other than salt.

    Otherwise, cheese curds and gravy.

Tell me something interesting about yourself
  • A lot of it has been family and college. The college I attended has a research group that allows students to do internships.

The college also runs job fairs every one in a while. Those kinds of things I huge.

Conventions of any kind as well, where you can speak to people in booths, or even any of the other attendees.

  • My first ever job was running a wood chipper under my uncles tree business. Did that almost every weekend for a number of years. Even sometimes in the winter. I wasn’t even a teenager when I first started this job.

Second job was working in a warehouse at a company my mom worked at. They really needed weekend help.

My third job was doing landscaping over the summer at a smallish company where my brother in law worked at. The owner loved to hire students for cheap.

Fourth was a few software development internships ran by a research group at my college. I had a friend who was part of the group and vouched for me.

My current job is my first true career job as a software engineer. The project manager from one of the internships I had actually got a job as CTO at this company. Offered me a junior position there out of college. Been there almost 6 years.

I have applied to places where I certainly would have needed interviews, but I was never offered an opportunity.

To make this even more awesome is that I’ve interviewed candidates myself at my current job for junior positions.

  • I’ve never had to do a job interview. 5 different jobs, all word of mouth.

iPhone users, what's stopping you from switching to Android?
  • Used to use android, but switched to iPhone when the 12 came out. I simply don’t care about the flexibility anymore... I used to tinker a lot, but now I personally don’t find it amusing. And even if I did want to tinker, the Shortcuts app provides a lot of cool features. iOS is refined, sleek, and I enjoy the UI. AirPlay works miles better than anything on android. CarPlay is a better experience. The ecosystem just works. Apple Maps street view is available in places google maps isn’t. I’m currently on the 15 pro max, and the design and feel of the phone is awesome. Probably a handful of other things that don’t immediately come to mind.

My workplace has a budget for office ergonomic upgrades, what should I ask for?
  • I will need about 15 years worth of home office allowance to be able to afford one of those. That doesn't even include shipping and taxes.

  • My cat has not once tried unraveling a toilet paper roll. He has stolen money before, but he steals shit, so that’s normal. But never toilet paper.

    What's your biggest gamer achievement?
  • I’ve completed GTA 5 a handful of times, so I’m hoping that because it’s a rockstar game, I’ll be able to finish it… But only time will tell.

    What's your biggest gamer achievement?
  • Anytime I finish a game is a pretty big achievement. Lots of games I play and just either get bored of or forget about. Stray, Cyberpunk, Subnautica, Outer Wilds, etc… I just can’t seem to finish games. I’m now trying to play RDR2, so hopefully I can complete it. Hogwarts Legacy is the latest game I’ve fully completed (last year), but I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter, so I feel like that helped.

    My first bike
  • I don't go far on these roads for that reason (I break something or lose a tire). Worst case I call for a pickup. I will definitely be picking up some better tires for next season though. Most my riding currently is highway, and the occasional short stop into a gravel road, so for now it's alright (knock on wood).

    My first bike
  • I just do light gravel roads (logging roads) since that's mostly what we have around here. I kinda just went for it not knowing what was gonna happen, but I didn't go fast just in case I hit a rock or rut and dropped the bike. These tires were fine, but I don't have experience of using an off-road tire to provide a comparison, unfortunately.

    My first bike
  • It was a toss-up between this and the klr650s. The KLR was nice, but I just felt so much more comfortable on the Versys. Its also lighter, and as a new rider, I think it is beneficial (for meat least).

I couldn't be happier with my decision!

Picked up my first bike yesterday - Kawasaki Versys-X 300. Have already reached 500kms, and loved every single one.

If you were offered knowledge of exactly when and how you'll die, would you take it? Why or why not?
  • But wouldn't ending it sooner than what you learned BE the details of your death? So you're not dying earlier than your original death date, because that IS your death date.

Collecting memes in your camera roll probably serves the same instinct that stamp collecting used to
  • I save them in my camera roll so that I can share them with people. I then just never delete them and they get lost. It is nice every once in a while to spot that random meme from 5 years ago and have a small chuckle.

What do you think of birdwatchers and birdwatching ?
  • As someone who likes bird photography and spent half his life skateboarding, this is such a badass photo.

Unfortunately there was a shadow from the branch in front, so I did my best to adjust that in post. I had just showed up and wasn't really ready with the camera. Was able to snap a couple shots before he/she took off.

What do you think about the tri-photo format? I think it looks cool, but not sure what others think.

    (Yes, it needs a bath)

I wasn't sure how well the titanium colour would work on white, especially knowing how great black wheels looks, but I think it looks fantastic.
