  • I would argue that progress like this is only happening because of the pressure on Biden from people saying they won't vote for him if he continues to support the genocide. The biggest change was after the uncommitted movement in some of the primaries That's why I'm okay with people saying they won't vote for him, as long as they agree to vote for him if he continues to improve.

  • It's a lot of work to admin an instance, though. I can understand if random people don't want to do it. I hope one day someone does, because a California or Socal instance was the first one I looked for, too.

  • It was. But there were interesting effects from Reddit getting huge, like more niche subreddits and random encounters, like someone posting a proposal pictures and the targets of it being able to find it online. That probably wouldn't happen on Lemmy.

    Probably a worthy trade for better discussion and less bots, though.

  • But the other person has a point. It's every business nowadays trying to subsidize employee wages with tips. So as a customer we're not supposed to go anywhere? How is that possible? I'll not cross the picket line, but I also need to buy food and groceries and live my life.
