Decision time
  • Anyone can also use any exploits then find so you have to make sure you’re keeping up updating your devices. And every port you forward is an intrusion point into your network should someone want to hack you.

This is the part that scares the shit out of me. I bought a domain with the intention of making a little web 1.0 website for fun and to learn, but I have no real idea what I'm doing and the security risk makes it a non-starter :(

'We Are All Culpable': Third American Self-Immolates to Protest Israel's Gaza Onslaught
  • Yeah how are those ceasefire talks going?

There are a ton of things the US could do than just providing unconditional military aid to be used on Palestinian civilians that doesn’t result in Iran invading. At the absolute bare minimum enforce their own “red lines.” Precision strike weapons are pointless if they’re just used for indescriminate bombing.

You’re talking down to me as if you know the objective facts, but there are in fact things the US could do to stop this that they are actively choosing not to do. There are more conditions on weapons going to Ukraine than to Israel. It’s disgusting and apologists for it are disgusting.

  • What kind of argument is this? "We gotta keep supporting genocide, or there will be more genocide" You aren't paying attention if you don't think this situation is horrendously bad and the people supporting it are monsters.

Anyway, here's a picture of a US supplied bomb that killed 45 people at a refugee camp in Rafah.

Undecided voters give Harris a look — but not a commitment — after the debate
  • Undecided voters don’t matter in this election. There’s so few of them, and most of them are just people who are too scared to say they support Trump.

This election will be decided by turnout.

Tyreek Hill learned he isn’t allowed to do what white people do
  • Yeah man, being rude to a public servant justifies being torn out of your car, slammed into the pavement and placed in handcuffs. Fuck right off.

'The Daily Show': Jon Stewart's Harris-Trump Debate Recap
  • What about the people with principles that remember the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis that died in the Iraq War that Dick is directly responsible for? Its fucking gross

There’s a ton of other Republicans they could’ve name dropped other than goddamn Dick Cheney. I think even most Republicans hate him.

DeArrow is an open source browser extension for crowdsourcing better titles and thumbnails on YouTube.
  • YouTube let's creators A/B test different thumbnails, but they can't upload a bunch of them to feed to different demographics or automatically cycle them like Netflix does. I'm sure that's coming though.

    Democrats be like
  • What an incredibly depressing position to be put in.

It might be the “objectively better” choice, but if I saw anyone enthusiastically pull that lever without a second thought I’d think they’re a psychopath. Like you’re still killing thousands upon thousands of people.

I’m not even saying don’t pull the lever, but it should eat at you.

    Dear iPhone users:
  • Seriously, does anyone think Apple users care about unlocked bootloaders and LDAC codecs? They want whatever the new iOS features are and their AirPods to work seamlessly.

I have an Android phone and an iPhone, and they both do pretty much the same thing. I can do some things with Android that iOS can't, but it's nothing an average user couldn't do without, or even know they're missing.

  • UPDATE: I fixed it!! It was the PSU.

So I just built my first PC in like 20 years. Everything was going fine, I was installing Windows and got to the network setup step and my wifi was having trouble staying connected. I figured it was because I hadn't set up drivers yet, so I thought whatever, no problem, I'll just move it by my router and plug in an ethernet cable.

So I powered off and moved it, and...dead. Nothing is happening when I hit the power button. No fans, no lights, nothing. I've made sure no cables got jiggled loose or anything. Maybe I shorted something somewhere on the motherboard? I can't see anything without fully disassembling and having to rebuild it. I really don't want to do that, but I guess I'll have to unless I'm missing something obvious. I'll test the PSU tomorrow but I doubt it's that, these are all brand new parts.

    Any ideas?
