Ostrich Chick (with its mothers leg in the background for scale)
  • Came across a brood of these chicks in a nearby National Park. They stay in parental care for up to 9 months, and only 12% of chicks per nest grow to adult due to their susceptibility to disease and poor weather.

  • Nice to see our two main forwards linking up (albeit awkwardly). Hopefully that pair can get stronger over time, they have so much potential

  • They beat our press easily in the first 30, put us under a lot of pressure, giving away the set pieces that lead to goals. Since then our press has worked better and Villa haven’t had any control. Hopefully we can continue with that pressure and convert chances

Looking forward to the Bayern Game
  • Me too. I don’t have high expectations but we playing better football when in possession, so hopefully that can start turning into wins.

It’s also fantastic to be back in the Champions League. Let’s hope we can stay there for a while this time

  • Good takes here, agree with what you are saying. I think we gave them a couple too many chances to say the plan worked well, but we definitely did very well against the high press and used it to our advantage in the final third of the game

  • I don’t think there were any atrocities in the decisions. Arsenal we’re a better team most of the game.

We did look much better towards the end of the game when both teams were a bit more open, especially when we had a strong target man up top

  • Yes, pretty much. But we were also pretty slow in attacking transitions (which should be our strength), giving them plenty time to block out space

  • Thanks for the detailed response. It doesn’t seem like there is a perfect answer here, but it is very important that you and other admins/mods can find some sort of sustainable way to delegate and manage for the long term. We really appreciate what you have done so far

  • www.sciencenews.org Some African birds follow nomadic ants to their next meal

Specialized interactions between birds and driver ants in Africa could help explain why the birds are especially sensitive to forest disturbances.

Driver ants regularly sweep across Africa’s tropical forest floors in voracious swarms hundreds of thousands of ants strong. Some birds are known to find and follow ant swarms, and scientists have only just begun to study these interactions.

In a remote corner of Zambia, an arms race is being fought — and the loser could face the threat of extinction.

Recent research on a changing battle between parasite and host bird species. Fascinating how animals continue to adapt to the pressures on their population.
