  • I appreciate the reply. I feel like a lot of people in this thread are failing to articulate themselves properly. Though there are clearly some commenters that have (very) misogynistic views that need to be checked.

  • *By simply hating a billionaire.

Some of the criticism levied against Taylor Swift is definitely rooted in sexism, misogyny, and political bias: but not all of it.

To lump everyone criticizing Taylor Swift into the same group as the misogynists and sexists is disingenuous. She deserves criticism and is not free of it just because she's a woman.

She's also one of the most famous people in the world. So of course she's going to get more flack from her visibility alone.

Thus the following can be true: Taylor Swift isn't the only one that deserves criticism from her private jet usage. And there are those that would criticize her in bad faith because of her political alignments/because she's a woman. But even then the criticism she has received is still completely valid.

No billionaire deserves or needs special treatment.

  • "The right to self-determination" so long as that self determination is becoming Russian territory and nothing more.

Let's not lie to ourselves that this is anything less than Russian Imperialism. It's Russian vs Western Imperialism all the way down.

Edit: both Crimea and Donbas are currently under Russian control. In the case of Crimea it's been almost 10 years now under Russian occupation. If you believe they will leave Russian control I would love to see why you believe so.

  • You're a bigot because of your reactionary response to a situation that doesn't exist. I can make up a scenario in my head and get upset about it, but that doesn't mean that it's happening. And you've been doing it all over this thread and projecting that anger onto trans people.

A transwoman not on HRT is just as much a woman as one who's been on it for years, according to advocates

You're also transphobic for implying that trans women not taking HRT are less women than those that do. They're just women, all of them.

  • Here's an NPR article interviewing a known geneticist and talking about Trans Athletes. Their general consensus is that there is a lack of data to make an assertion one way or the other for if trans athletes have an edge. And that's without taking into account the vast differences between each individual trans person and where they're at genetically/hormonally. Trans athletes aren't a monolith that are all the same, they can have fundamentally different circumstances and genetics between each person.

Honestly any automatic ban of trans-athletes is stupid. Michael Phelps has a natural genetic advantage when it comes to swimming, but no one of note is coming for his gold medals or saying he can't compete.

  • I'm not an expert on Star Wars lore, but I think it's to dehumanize them and add them to the greater force of the Empire. The Empire doesn't need individuals for its troopers, they need tools and pawns that will follow orders when given.

And since they're just pawns, typically recruited en masse, why even cash out for good armor when you can just mass produce the bear minimum for dirt cheap? That's my take anyways
