Timberborn Received „Colossal” Patch. Update 6 Heralds Price Increase
  • Maybe they introduced a new bug, but last time I played that would happen because they were spending too much time hauling stuff, adding more haulers in some strategic locations usually fixed it

This movie had no soundtrack which also made this film unsettling for me. Spooky, how authentic it was
  • Not sure if it's the same in the US, but in France a psychiatrist's area of expertise is drugs and their effect on our brain/body (and with each other), which is why they have to do a few years of med school. They also have some psychology knowledge obviously but it's not their main focus, whereas a psychologist does not need any medical training (iirc) and specializes in psychology, and thus cannot prescribe drugs aside from over-the-counter stuff, although a lot of them also have some psychiatry training to better interact with psychiatrists when needed

Ex developer at Bethesda quit his job after 14 years and made this heavy metal horror game as a solo dev with no publisher
  • Same rendering engine, same lighting, and for the vast majority of them, basically the same rendering settings (as the other person said, tweaking these can actually be quite a lot of work)

What's your typical "stand-by" mode for your computer when you're not using it?
  • This. I didn't spend nearly 1000 bucks on hardware that ensures that I basically spend more time on the POST screen than on the rest of the entire boot sequence to keep the thing on 24/7

    The market is unpredictable
  • Yeah imo that floor is more of a deal breaker than the overabundance of purple, but then again I am a purple enjoyer (although I prefer my purple to have more blue in it)

Why are her arms as long as her body?
  • I had a cat that learned to open the front door to the house. Just casually stretched all the way to the handle and pulled it down

What is the absolute last extreme sport you'd be willing to try?
  • I may be wrong here but I think that just like sky diving vs BASE jumping, you can actually just do it from a plane, which sounds like it would be a lot less dangerous

Russians are purposely using drones to kill civilians in the Kherson region.
  • Let me rephrase it then : "in order to not bomb your civilian ass, we need to know where the Ukrainian armed forces are located". Even if the Ukrainian army was using their own civilians as meat shields that wouldn't make much sense because the Russians would still have to bomb civilians in order to bomb the army... So the only explanation is that they're basically saying "rat on your army, or else" here.

    Most gamers prefer single-player games
  • Maybe I'm doing it wrong or I'm just too shy to socialize with strangers in these games, but as someone who has fond memories of my favorite TF2/killing floor community servers, I feel like there is basically no sense of community in these games now that matchmaking is king and private hosting is a thing of the past

Hi, I recently installed pop!_os on my shiny new gaming desktop and I'm loving it so far. But I'm now trying to get some games to work (mostly Helldivers 2 right now, which does work after a fresh install, but then freezes on a blackscreen with all subsequent launches. I'm assuming this is due to that awful kernel level anti cheat somehow)

Long story short, according to the fine folks over at protonDB, gamescope can help. But I can't find it on the pop shop or with apt-get. If anyone can point me to some trusted PPA I can use, or the dependencies I need to build it from source, that would be very appreciated (or even, just how to find out what dependencies I am missing. I lost my linux-fu after a long period of using Windows exclusively but I'm not a complete noob)

Additional infos : I used the Nvidia installer, 550 drivers (I have the RTX 3080 Ti), have the Nvidia drm modeset enabled, and I'm using the pop_os Steam package. I also enabled "force full composition pipeline" in Nvidia settings actually I just disabled it because it was causing issues with some other games that were running fine without it
