  • You could probably think of it as sushi. Some people love it, it may be a staple diet of certain cultures, while a lot of people absolutely can't stand the smell nor taste of fish, or outright hate the texture.

  • I haven't seen discovery so no spoilers

But it would be great if there was a bigger explanation that the general humanoid aliens were all seeded by the preservers while other more exotic spacefaring species evolved on their own hence the significant differences

  • How about, and hear me out on this...give us a good, well written series and ease off in the callbacks and blatant shameless fan service. If you feel so compelled to do that era, give us a compelling show about the Earth Romulan War, with new characters on a new ship and a new crew with the occasional rare cameo.

This doesn't mean make Reed the captain with Sato as his first officer and Mayweather as the second officer with Phlox and T'Pol showing up every other episode, constantly contacting Archer, and directly referencing Enterprise episodes every 4-7 minutes while featuring a young Sarek who becomes a regular cast member in season 2 and oh look ancestors of Kirk and Riker...

  • Boss: [leaves the conference room to take a personal call, stands directly outside my cube while not using an inside voice]

Me: [gets up to go somewhere because of the distraction]

Boss: Where are you going? This isn't break time

  • I liked it, I'm glad they put it in a separate universe as not to have to hand wave their existence in the Prime Universe. I like the idea of glossing over the origin story. But they just seemed to come off as too perfect of heroes, like saving the world is something they casually do in their spare time.

  • I thought Pedro did a passing job as Reed. I wasn’t blown away. He was just ok to me. I’m not sure what would have made the performance stellar, but I don’t think he was the perfect casting after watching it. I couldn’t even tell you who would be.

I like Pedro Pascal, but I was actually disappointed when they announced his casting. Not that I didn't think he'd do a great job but just that it was a very safe casting choice...almost stunt casting. I was thrilled when they announced the other 3, especially for Johnny and Ben because those were inspiring choices.
