We're already halfway there. Not mashups but my YouTube is littered with low effort ai slop with click-bait titles. I've unfortunately come across several where the terrible AI narration doesn't even come close to pronouncing anything close, pointing out very obvious facts, the images vaguely relate to the content, and usual gets facts wrong.

What you described has me worried because for the last couple years the right has riled up their side to the point of weaponized patriotism that would make McCarthy cringe. And the hard push towards deification of military and veterans to the point that they'll blindly support the military being deployed against US citizens.

Someone actually did a breakdown of TNG holodeck malfunctions and the actual rate averages less than 1 episode per season. That's if you don't count someone legitimately messing with the holodecks first. I can definitely see how those things are extremely useful. Not everyone is going to be within the relatively save confines of ESD or stationed on a core planet. You're out in unexplored space on your own with no backup and will encounter some of the most absurdly effed-up races/beings/giant green space hands.
