Vance defends spreading claims that Haitian migrants are eating pets
  • JD admitted today to fucking couches to bring attention to the issue that not enough people are putting protective sheets on their furniture.

"Donald Trump and I have started talking about memes of me fucking a couch to bring attention to this important issue in the lives of the American people, and how the media is just ignoring the topic of couch fucking." - JD "couch fucker" Vance

'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT': Trump Is Big Mad That the Star Endorsed Harris

Trump can’t accept his poor debate. So he’s spiraled into conspiracy theories.
  • His brain is like mashed potatoes at this point, almost everything he regurgitates is something his staff prints out for him every morning (how he gets his "news"), TV, or some wild troll farm coming to his social feed. He then sees these things and runs with them because he has no critical thinking skills at all. That is why his handlers try and talk to him through the TV appearances and op eds that could be printed for him.

The pets stuff was from Fox and others knowing it wasn't legit but putting it out for Trump to pickup, though probably for his rallies, as at the debate it did not land.

Fediverse Discovery Providers, a new project for search and discovery
  • Let me repeat: there is no real privacy in any social network. If people are genuinely afraid of being targeted because of what they write online, the solution is not to give them a false sense of privacy, but to educate and empower them to use messaging platforms that are provably secure.

I think everyone understands that what they type is public, but there is a difference between posting something to a community that may be small in nature and would likely only be found and read by those also interested or a part of said community, and someone creating a database of ALL this type of content that some troll can use to more easily target people and blast their hate filled replies out to.

Those that are telling marginalized folks to use instance XYZ because “they don’t federate with threads and therefore are safe” think that they are being helpful, but in reality are putting them at even more risk because they are telling all of them to concentrate in the same place and make the targeted tracking even easier for malicious actors.

I don't think anyone is telling groups "post to my instance and you'll be safe from threads". But when people want to do things like creating bridges from Threads to Lemmy they strip admins of the ability to block Threads content from Lemmy instances that defederated Threads for a reason.

These topics have far reaching implications that just "I want all the search!" and anyone that doesn't want it is holding the fediverse back.

Why does one party keep interfering with voting?
  • Is this in Texas where the guy responsible was just indicted? He was supposed to look at all the places ballots were to go and instead just sent basically a divided equal amount to each location. He did this partly because he was doing this while at work at another job that was undisclosed to the local government while he "worked from home" for them. His new job was with some oil company paying considerably more, but he never resigned and just half assed his gov work to keep the extra $.

    Edit - Source

Edit 2 - I'm apparently illiterate and missed the word Mississippi somehow. 😩

  • I think what you are talking about is instances that may have a large population of marginalized groups, and the fear that someone is creating a database that could be used to easily seek them out and use it for trolling and such. Which I think is a very valid concern.

And as mentioned above, you have the crowd that wants to take an instance and give all their posts over to for-profit corporations like Threads and Bluesky, that should not even be called part of the fediverse IMHO.

I don't know how you make a global search for the fediverse that avoids both of those issues though.

Longtime GOP Pollster: Trump’s Campaign Is Over After Debate
  • It actually plays into the Harris point of Trump churning through staff that he feels like aren't doing enough for him. And I can't imagine he removes JD and then puts him in his cabinet or something, to which I would expect JD to flip back to his pre-VP-audition stance on Trump and spread the word of what is happening "behind the curtain".

Trump is 'hanging himself' with his own rope as campaign spirals out of control: analyst
  • I would LOVE to see Trump drop out for whatever reason, and then the GOP has a vote like they did for the speaker of the house to see who takes his place. The drama of all the wackos that 1/2 of even the GOP worst dislike, mixed with all the opportunist bottom feeders, all trying to battle it out to lead the party in the new power vacuum of "yes men/women" would be just pay-per-view level entertainment.

Now I have to deal with this during family holidays
  • On top of that, we have millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums and they're coming and they're taking jobs that are occupied right now by African Americans and Hispanics and also unions.

    • Donald J Trump

So essentially he believes that people of color only work jobs so bad, that employers have started to replace these people with what I would assume are people that are clearly "insane" and/or with mental health issues. Just wild!

But conspiracy theriost turned it into immigrants because that's what you do when also having a break from reality.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs loses $100m default judgment over sexual assault allegations
  • Nice victim shaming attempt, when his own record since his alleged Combs assault plays no part in this (his first offense was 1998 - which is a year after the alleged assault). An assault like this can mess people up, although that doesn't excuse his wrongs, but they may help explain his mindset.

You also left out 2 of the more key parts of your cherry picking -

The award was issued Monday by Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge Anna Marie Anzalone following a temporary restraining order granted to Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, 51, against Combs in August.

A judges don't usually hand out restraining orders like candy on Halloween, and I assume when the person asking is currently incarcerated even less so?

Cardello-Smith produced prison facility information revealing Combs’s name logged into the visitation record, and says the founder of Bad Boy Records offered him $2.3 million dollars to dismiss the lawsuit, but Cardello-Smith rejected the offer.

So Combs went to the jail himself to talk with this guy instead of sending a lawyer on his behalf, interesting that.

  • The fact that it needs to come from a "familiar with the company" anonymous source instead of the official source gives me pause in believing this 100%. Is it really just ageing/ getting older? How is this supposed to work? How is everyone else doing this?
  • Interesting you bring up Celiac Disease, as I found it doing some GoogleMD^tm myself, but had forgotten about pursuing it.

I'm a bit older than OP, but have almost all the same symptoms, and have gotten the same "your just getting old" response from everyone. I still believe mine is tied back to me getting COVID (only tested positive that once), and have hurt basically non-stop to some degree since. I know people have all sorts of long-COVID things from taste, smells, breathing, diabetes, heart issues (blood clots/blood pressure/etc.) and on and on. This woman at work had this wild autoimmune thing with kinda painful rash blots that would randomly popup all over her body not long after she had COVID. I guess it's possible maybe it triggered Celiac Disease for me.

Trump rebrands his ramblings as ‘I do the weave’ – but is he just losing it?
  • This is absolutely not ADHD, this is his dementia and substance abuse. Having ADHD you may be distracted while trying to tell someone about something, but you'll be excited to talk about a special interest which may lead into another, but stuff will make sense and often more in depth than most care to hear.

Trump however has no interests beyond grifting and trying to sleep with Ivanka. However he word salads about a bunch of things he knows little to nothing about. He slurs words all over the place, stops mid-word and like brain skips for a sec, and then just goes into something unrelated. It's like his brain is constantly corrupting and causing a reboot.
