People who have those extra fold out laptop monitors, are they any good?
  • I have one like tiramichu and also like it. Use it constantly and it's convenient to be able to share things on my screen with people on the other side of my desk occasionally, making it more practical than something built-in to the laptop.

I could make a great PC for that...
  • At $80/year for the online. You'd still be saving $40/year compared to 2 switch subscriptions. You'd save enough in 5 years to buy the 3rd and still be saving $20/year on subscriptions.

It's official: consoles cost as much as gaming PCs now
  • If you use the subscription for like a single console generation, you find out most of the cost of the console was hidden in the find print via those installment payments. At least with the PS5Pro, thanks to the really high console price and relatively short time til the PS6, the cost of the subscription isn't that much if you intend to upgrade to the PS6 immediately. But if you got the original 5 and planned to keep it until the 6, then you might be spending more on your PS5 basic-tier subscription than the MSRP of the PS5Pro (and double if you used premium the whole time).

2 transgender New Hampshire girls can play on girls sports teams during lawsuit, a judge rules
  • Huh? Having fins isn't a nationality? Irish was just an example of an adjective. Not sure why you are bringing it up?

trans people are self-defined so it’s not something outside their control.

Sorta, but the statement seems to show a pretty relevant and significant misunderstanding. Trans isn't like an easily externally identifiable trait like skin color (technically an autopsy could potentially provide evidence for being trans even in those who've never taken hormones or done any gender-affirming surgeries, but like we are talking about correlates, not defining features). But like neither is autism. You find out basically by asking.

For sports, some leagues have started dealing with the existence of trans people and hormone-doping cis women by simply making sports divisions include hormone requirements. Its not really about whether the person is trans or cis though, so it means some cis women who aren't doping get excluded from cis women sports with such rules.

PS: gender and race are both just made up.

  • Like transhuman sports category? For cyborgs and such? Could be cool, but also could incentivize people give their body away to companies to make money. Guess first we just need to do away with companies.

I think warehouses have things that would probably count, but we need consumer-facing options!

  • And given he wasn't able to do the job of president due to dementia, I'd say incompetent also applies. Trump is just extra incompetent and extra criminal to almost comical degrees if we didn't have to deal with results...

The ones where it's only a couple entries mostly seem to be the ones where there's multiple articles on a single page and it's at least might be attempting to be helpful?

  • If you had empathy for them, you'd want that money going to making sure they have regular appointments with experts who are much more likely to know if it's something that is likely to help or if it's just another clone drug that marginally better for some people but really just designed to extend patents and charge an absurd premium rather than peddling that stuff as a serious hope for every person suffering from the disease just to let them down again.

Jill Stein is a plant to nobody's surprise.
  • I went through my saved threads recently and there were many things there I don't remember seeing, never liked, and would not have had any interest in saving. Yet they ended up there because I fat finger things. Add the possibility of other social media persons having access to the account, liking it because she personally knew the person and didn't really cared what it said, etc, it seems like a single media account like isn't really that useful...

Who knows how many comments and posts I've accidentally up voted or down voted without even realizing it....

    Can somebody solve this puzzle?
  • OTP for 2FA has just started becoming common here (US) within the last decade I think. Each bank has its own separate app and many banks seem to limit password lengths to less than other websites.
