Agreed with all your points. The show would be elevated by taking a "Game of Thrones" approach - aka no character is safe from being killed off. They've made it really obvious who's ""safe"" and it takes the tension away.
Overall, it's a good start and I'm excited to see more.
Yeah, I'm quite glad they skipped showing what happened on the ship (for now). I want to eventually know, but the show's appeal is seeing Aliens on Earth - so skipping the ship's downfall was the best call.
Overall, the show is pretty solid. I really like the sense of dread and unease it builds... buuttt it's bothering me how much plot armor a certain character has - especially when it's right after showing how efficient the alien can murder.
