  • I'm comparing it to ports larger ports like 3.5 and USB-A. The ports in the phone are fine, but the plugs on the headphone end wear out like crazy. Carrying a phone in my pocket with a USB-C header sticking out for a while day of work causes it to wiggle around no matter what I do. Eventually I realized it was a losing battle 😐

  • I hate how small the USB-C connector is though! They're fragile and wear out pretty quickly. Everybody discounts the round barrel jack size as if it's a bad thing, i think it's the exact opposite. It's large and the internal contacts are similarly large which keeps them working forever lol

  • In 1995, our class had to take a field trip to the library's computer lab. The teacher had us open Netscape and go to http :// yahoo dot com. Then we printed off some kind of search query. That whole process took about 2 hours lol

  • I teach at a college - there's a LOT of resistance from the old school types who want to open the same lessons handed down to them from 25 years ago rather than change the methods and approach learning differently. I was just in a meeting on Monday where one department wanted the administrators to purchase a 3rd party $200k "AI detector" software thinking that would be the solution they needed. They were giddy about it solving their problem once and for all. I sat there face-palming 🤦‍♂️

  • It's true that there's some usefulness in recollection, but geez I find myself digging through my browser history and being absolutely lost... whether it's an article, video, online store product, anything. Then I usually just re-search for whatever it was from scratch 🤷‍♂️

  • Arc-fault breakers are required by code as of now, and it would help this situation quote a bit. However millions of homes don't have them installed so they're more at risk.
