  • Wasn’t The Expanse a book series first, then all the other media after?

    1.4.0 New Feature: Properties
  • Sweet! I’ve been using Notion lately for a work project that fit very well with Notion’s collaborative databases. But in doing that it made me want Properties for my personal Obsidian notes.

Things you wished you knew before setting up your Deck?
  • Another “if you have a desktop pc” tip is you can now install a game to the SD from the PC without downloading it from the internet again. I haven’t actually had a reason to try this, but I know it’s an option that seems pretty cool.

Evernote Lays Off Most of Staff, Triggering Fears of Closure
  • Man, I saw something about the other day and it doesn’t make me feel good about still having some work notes in Evernote. I’m going to have to find an alternative, but I need collaboration and low cost (cuz my company is cheap AF). And I know those two things don’t usually go together.

  • That bottom right panel about telling my parents hits hard. My mom was silent and my dad said something to the effect of “we never noticed anything”. Yea, that’s exactly the point! I listed a few examples from my childhood and they didn’t seem to care/believe it was related. 🙄🤦‍♂️

Have you replaced your iPhone battery, and was it worth it?
  • I have a 12, and I’m at 85% health. Don’t know the cycle count though. I plan get a new 15 later this year, replace the battery on the 12, and hand it down to another family member.

What are your use cases for the Steam Deck?
  • Man, the amount of times I sat in front of the TV playing console games while holding one of my kids… too many to count. It really sucks (from a gaming perspective) when they become mobile. 😭

What are your use cases for the Steam Deck?
  • For me, it’s been useful to get in some gaming time while still being around my family/kids. I have a gaming PC too, but it’s in my office which is kind of cut off from the main living areas of our house. The SD allows me to play and still easily pause to do whatever for my kids or talk to my wife, etc. The sleep/wake is *chef’s kiss.

My other use case is emulation. It’s really good at it, and even passable at emulating the Switch. Though the sleep/wake doesn’t work with those, it’s a trade off.

The Planar Fissure event is now live. Get double the planar rewards today through June 28 @ 4 AM (server time). I'm fairly sure I read that there are limits to how many double rewards you can collect per day, but this article didn't mention that.

Escaping from the Chromium monopoly - alternative browser engines
  • Firefox + Vivaldi has been my go-to for about a year now. Only reason I need Vivaldi is for work, since we use Google Suite. Hangouts on Firefox doesn’t see/give me the right audio options. And large Sheets are noticeably slower/less responsive on FF then on any Chromium-based browser. Vivaldi feels like the best option among Chromium options.

Hey guys, this time I really messed up :/
  • Seems that so long as the attribution is in place the Postmill people aren't going to push it further. I (and I hope the community) appreciate your transparency and honesty. That's the sort of thing that makes me want to stick around here and support this project.

And for fun, I will check out those other sites, since I hadn't heard about Postmill/Raddle before.
