  • In my experience, ADHD meds make it easier to stay in task rather than getting distracted, but they don't make it any easier for me to actually start tasks!

  • People must really like Pie! We just did the same thing with Blåhaj Lemmy yesterday!

  • Niagra Launcher on android phones! It completely changes the paradigm for finding and launching apps and navigating your phone

  • Threadiverse was a thing before Threads was a thing...

And it specifically refers to the subset of "reddit like" ActivityPub platforms, so it's more specific than Fediverse. Threadiverse instances are part of the Fediverse too, but they're quite distinct from Mastodon etc

  • The last thing lemmy needs is more centralisation on lemmy.world

  • If that happens organically with enough communities, then it might be something we consider, but I'm not going to push people to uproot their communities if they don't have to.

  • We now have a PieFed instance for those who want to avoid lemmy altogether!

  • Like many others, honestly, I'm more frustrated with conversations that downplay the impact of ADHD on my life. It has upsides, and in a different world it may not be a deficit, but in this world, it adds barriers and difficulties. It sets me on the back foot compared to my peers. As long as the language were using if lets me talk about the struggles and downsides, without forcing me to pretend that it's a net neutral or net positive in my life, I'm ok with it.

  • We don't have a point of comparison so far, because the instances don't share the same concurrent user numbers, but it would be hard to beat lemmy, which is really light for the volume it handles.

  • To the best of my knowledge, it is its own thing, rather than a fork of lemmy

  • Not particularly. There is no migration path between lemmy and PieFed, so we're just spinning up two instances, and we'll see what happens

  • Piefed doesn't have great 3rd party app support at the moment

  • People who get downvoted a lot end up with a ‘low reputation’ indicator next to their name. You’ll know it when you see it.

Probably not, because we have downvotes disabled :)

  • There are lots of little usability improvements, and configuration options, but they are functionally very similar.

But it also has the advantage of not being written by the lemmy devs, which is a deal breaker for some folk

  • Give us a crash course in the history of your world

me, trying to make a world history up on the fly, whilst not contradicting stuff I made up on the fly 6 sessions ago

  • Permanently Deleted

  • They're designed to be easy to navigate, and to funnel you through as many duty free stores as they can!

  • Someone needs less coffee

  • I get my partner to do it for me!
