China's New Hypersonic Passenger Plane Can Fly From London to New York in Under 2 Hours
  • Not only nobody needs to do that trip that fast, but we're not in the early 00's anymore, and there has never been as many tools to communicate and collaborate remotely. So I'd expect a non-negligible part of these don't even need to do the trip anymore if they want to save money and time.

Boundary Herald has to be bought?!
  • I can understand putting that condition on past ships, so you can't cheese too much on a new game/expedition (I don't think it was necessary, but I get why they'd do it).

The shitty part is that it did so too on the expedition quest reward. Like, it skipped the final reward forever on my expedition save because suddenly it randomly required nanites to claim.

And I checked the quicksilver bot afterwards, the ship is shown as already claimed, so I can't even farm and try again.

  • I had that egg bug too a few days ago, but it's supposed to be fixed in the latest patch. I could hatch the egg since anyway.

"It's going to be fun to play this game again!" [Azul Crescent's silly scribbles]
  • Yeah, I am not sure I can relate either. My favourite games on the NES and SNES when I was a kid are still games I sometimes replay and enjoy today.

Closest thing to the comic I could find would be Ecco the Dolphin, maybe. I had the PC version, and I finished it a few times back then, I was stubborn and a bit bored. Not that long ago I tried returning to it, and maybe try the second game... And wow, it feels like a chore to play.

But even back then, it was not a game I liked that much. I liked how it looked, the creatures you'd meet and the crazy plot, but gameplay already felt tedious and stupidly unforgiving.

  • I think this is a bug? I read that this apparently happened to some people with some previous expedition reward ships, but it's the first I've seen it. Steam version.

When I tried to claim the ship, my only claim option was to buy it for 1400 nanites. I hadn't that much left, I basically spent all my nanites on minotaur AI and upgrades (because fuck having to fight yourself in this game). Since I couldn't buy, I had a warning I would not be able to claim it later, and even though I cancelled, while I was trying to farm for nanites that game switched to normal save and I couldn't claim anymore (even from Anomaly).

I've confirmed in another save that the reward is available, but since I don't have that much nanites, I haven't try claiming yet, just in case it got eaten up again.

Are any of the games you play having interesting Haloween events?
  • Cult of the Lamb has a blood moon ritual that makes everything gloomy and summons the ghosts of your dead followers.

You can harvest them for unique decorations.

Ubisoft Quietly Releases Its First NFT Game, Champions Tactics.
  • The higher ups? Yeah, probably. This was clearly an attempt to embark their employees so they'd kickstart a hype. It didn't work.

Ubisoft devs are probably mostly decent people, but the more we hear about the upper management, the worse.

    Translucent Companion Egg no creature
  • When I tried a few days ago it happened to me too. That egg doesn't work.

I reverted to last save before I hatched the egg just in case (even though I'll probably not continue my expedition save and start a new one anyway).

  • There are 5 of them and they're worth $63,000 because they said so. And they hope they can convince enough people of that so they can sell them quick and forget they ever existed.

Ubisoft Quietly Releases Its First NFT Game, Champions Tactics.
  • Remember that time Ubi management tried to promote NFT to their employees and give some to them as a "bonus"? And then their own employees just told them to fuck off with that bullshit?

Ubisoft needs to crash and burn.

    Can't butcher/bury/burn Yttakins?
  • I'd say double check your bills (target/range), and that the body is allowed and not out of your pawns' allowed area (if nothing works regarding that body, I suspect something like that).

If everything is set as it should, I can't think of anything except weird mod interaction. Vanilla is not supposed to treat xenotypes differently for these purposes.

Oh, maybe try to draft a pawn and see if you can force them to carry the body. Drafted commands override usual limitations.

Day 101 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots
  • I've been playing mostly expeditions for a while (on PS4, occasionally VR : on a non-pro PS4, this is rough). I am getting a PC VR headset soon so I am waiting for that to double dip and make a clean save again.

Good thing is there are ways to unlock past expedition rewards on PC. I'd have no way to transfer them otherwise. They need to stop this limited time FOMO bullshit. I understand why the old expeditions themselves can't be maintained but there should be ways to get the unlockable stuff.

The Fennec Android browser is currently behind on Firefox security updates, deemed unsafe by F-droid
  • What do you find not tolerable in standard Firefox and what did this browser do that made it better?

I know firefox is rather memory heavy, but despite that it's still my go-to browser, both for desktop and mobile.

  • Well it's likely, the expeditions make everyone go to the same spots and this one is particular is supposed to be done without hyperdrive, so everyone is going to visit the same 5 systems and their planets.

Tiny raptor tracks lead to big discovery
  • I like how all we have are theropod tracks roughly the size of a sparrow's, so artists are like "yeah, I'm just gonna draw a sparrow with tiny clawed arms"

I mean, that's probably a reasonable assumption as any about how they might have looked, but still, it's funny.
