Interesting
  • It's just highly dependent on who is on the panel that night. The Weird Al, Drew Carey, and Thomas Lennon episode was hilarious.

Syncing vote color to Lemmy style?
  • Honestly, Lemmy is the wrong one here. Red/orange for up and blue for down follows the nomenclature for raising and lowering temperature. I'm guessing they changed it to just be different from Reddit.

  • The guy links to so many controlled, double-blind experiments. It's not like he is just making wild health claims out of nowhere. Why do you think he's a quack?

  • While I agree that it's definitely allowed to be a full price game (especially for a smaller studio) let's not pretend this game doesn't run badly. A PC game in 2023 running on an SSD shouldn't have a 3 minute loading screen for the opening menu, followed by another 3 minute loading screen, followed by the environment popping in one object at a time.

  • LJ! So happy to have Sync back. I'll happily pay for ad-free. It feels silky smooth so far. I don't see any bug reporting available in the app; should we just do it here? If so, I've noticed that "sort by top" in the comments sometimes will chop off the first comment.

Meta Threads engagement has dropped 50% in a week
  • I wouldn't say its FOMO, I think most people just had higher hopes for it as a direct Twitter replacement instead of the cesspool of reposters, uninteresting celebs, and wylin' out social media managers that it serves up in its feed. I don't mind Meta, I don't mind that they want to eventually federate, I just wish the feed wasn't pure trash.

What habits or practies have you adopted from cultures besides your own?
  • It's a little smaller scale, but... I've been a mid-westerner my whole life. I stopped calling soda "pop" around 10 years ago. It just doesn't sound right to me anymore.
