I mean Zohran is extremely adept at speaking off the cuff, it's one of his biggest strengths- I'd love to see that debate, maybe he can goad trump into it.

One of the most lovely design history and cultural exploration videos I've had the pleasure of watching, highligh reccomend!

A two party system has meant there isn't really a party of smart people. Just a party of dumb people and slightly less dumb people.

The Democratic party isn't actively self destructive, but the right wing being as self destructive as it is is absolutely a reflection of the dysfunction of the Democratic party to serve the interests of its people and engage with the countries problems in good faith.

You get to choose between complacent short-sighted people who allowed us to get to our current point, or people who are actively trying to destroy everything about the country that actually serves its people. Thats why the left in the US regularly has heated conversations about whether it's better to vote for the lesser of two evils, or not vote at all in expression of your dissatisfaction with the one party who really needs your vote as a "left" party.

Ah, gotcha. For the moment, I wouldn't think any of them are in an amazing state for daily driving to be honest, potentially depending on what functionality you need from your phone. I could be mistaken though, I haven't kept up with reviews or anything.

Reviews where people look at what all is functional would likely be your best starting place if you'd like to explore (I see them pop up periodically on youtube). Last I saw, the basic apps were reasonably funtional but core phone features like calling people was kinda jank or not working properly. But this was a while ago.

That being said, I think this is a fairly slow moving space at the moment. Hopefully this helps

Edit: just checked and it looks like there are two linux phones comms my instance is federated with, there may be some useful/interesting articles or info there !linuxphones@lemmy.ml !linuxphones@lemmy.ca .ml is more active (as usual for linux comms, as they were the first instance), but I don't keep up with whose instance is federated or defederated from them

That being said, making generalizations about the entire population of a country is generally a crappy thing to do (same with any other demographic that isn't just self identification with an ideology defined by hate or cruelty)

America is made of many people, plenty of whom are morons, plenty of whom are not. We unfortunately we have a wildly dysfunctional system of government that morons have gamed to consistently concentrate power in the hands of stupidest and most self destructive.

Thats always how FOSS has worked. It might be nice to have a unified effort to get one experience to a polished state, but the reality is that's never how linux or FOSS has worked when there are multiple projects. Users and devs and sponsors will gravitate to the ones they wanna use 🤷

Yeah. Hopefully the increasing importance will drive more development time and users that way incrementally, and things will improve.

My impression is that for the moment things are still a rough, just have to hope it won't stay that way.
