  • @OldManBOMBIN@lemmy.world At the time I was converting the screws to have 1/4" square heads IIRC, so they would match and be used with a couple of other pieces I had made. Also they got a black finish.

  • @Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca Yeah just a gravy/sauce under the rolls, no naan or other bread or anything.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of The Racetrack playa, Death Valley National Park.

#PhotoOfTheDay is a night-blooming cereus cactus flower. These bloom overnight and then are gone, so timing is everything!

#PhotoOfThe Day is this amazing artwork my son did.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of a rainbow in the mist of Chilnualna Falls, while backpacking in the Yosemite wilderness.

#PhotoOfTheDay is the "treehouse" (on the left) we stayed in one year on our usual Oregon holiday road trip. It was like staying in the Ewok village with all of the suspended, elevated walkways... It

#PhotoOfTheDay A large, roughly rounded boulder (sandstone?) is balanced somewhat precariously on a large rock formation, along the Mojave Road.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of very distant city lights ad a low glow to the dark sky behind a low ridge, while camping along the Mojave Road in the SoCal deserts.

  • @Nead@vivaldi.net I'm a fan of bourbon myself, I just suspect that Ferrari would be too snooty to serve anything that didn't cost 4 figures for a bottle. 😁

  • @Nead@vivaldi.net It wouldn't surprise me if they had something like that at Maranello... But likely something more snooty than bourbon.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of dual Weber four-barrel carbs in an old Ferarri. Photo taken one year at Concorso Italiano.

  • @real_squids@sopuli.xyz Where are you located? I've had a square UK plate on my old Land Rover, and rectangular "EU" style aftermarket plates can be a trendy addition to some cars here.

I usually opt for these Yosemite National Park plates myself.

  • @pmonks@sfba.social It definitely did that trip, although mainly for the desert dust... Most people don't realize that this is the main function of most vehicle snorkels.

#PhotoOfTheDay is my friend Antony's Land Cruiser blasting through the trickle of water under the Afton Canyon railroad bridge, Mojave Road.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of a snowy hilltop on the peak of Mauna Kea, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Elevation is just under 12,000'.

  • @Pearl22@troet.cafe She was a great character that way. As a guy, I admired her so much for standing up for herself and what she felt was right, and the fact that she wasn't going to let the men dismiss her and tell her what to do... I have always appreciated womens' strength, however it manifests itself.

There's a lot in that book (and other fiction) that serves to inspire in dark times, as we are facing now. "“... and so do all who live to see such times."

  • @Pearl22@troet.cafe Thanks! I was very happy to get it as a Christmas gift... Eowyn's been a favorite of mine since I read the books a gazillion years ago, long before the movies. :)

#PhotoOfTheDay is really just a photo of a painting, to change things up some... This is an interpretation of Eowyn from Lord of the Rings that my son painted for me several years ago, as he knew that

#PhotoOfTheDay is a Blue Angels jet with a vapor cone (also known as a shock collar) as it travels at supersonic speed, low over San Francisco Bay during Fleet Week. 2011 I think? Those people in the

#PhotoOfTheDay is another of Yosemite, since yesterday's photo was popular. This is the eastern end of Yosemite Valley, also featuring Half Dome. A truly spectacular natural setting, and my favorite
