  • Downloading OS software trusted by millions gets flagged in Chrome, "Do you really want to download this?", then flagged when running "Unrecognized author, beware". Tons of false positives.

Beer can artwork accidentally thrown in bin by staff member at Dutch museum
  • So, if I randomly find an empty beer can two meters from a trash can, and think about the lazy person who probably threw it there, is it art? If he did it for the sake of art and I had a though about it, is it art if I am not aware of it?

Art is just dumb, give me back my paintings and sculptures.

  • And it finally, after all those years, took the toll. Ubisoft crashed hard and hopefully they burn and fizzle out like a wet fart they are, all of the people starting with lower management and up gets yeeted, and maybe the next owner in line will have more brains and listen to the community.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't bought or played their games for the past 10 years, with exception of the first The Division, but I've been following their death spiral for the last few years and I am glad it finally showed on a company. But we need more examples.

Git grumpy: Torvalds complains of passive voice in merge commit messages
  • I do that by default. I have to actively think about empathy when I do CRs, because the other devs (who should not be doing these kinds of mistakes) just can't fucking do their job right for once.

But when I am getting a review, I don't get mad unless I am personally attacked (happened with a colleague who had a very high ego and somehow made it to a higher position, finally being let go about half a year back).
