What are some notable scams in history that went unnoticed for so long?
  • The Bernie Madoff investment scandal. Started in the 1970’s and continued into the 2000’s. It eventually dissolved in 2008 during the financial crisis. There’s a really great documentary on Netflix about it.

Universal's streaming service Peacock Lost $651 Million From April to June, expected to lost $3 Billion in 2023
  • Resident Alien and Poker Face were both good. Not sure if Resident Alien is exclusive to Peacock. I don’t have it year-round, but I do appreciate their collection of new movies that didn’t do as well at the box office.

What Reddit client did you use before the API changes?
  • I didn’t even realize how long I’d been using Apollo until all this stuff happened. It’s been the only way I’ve used Reddit for five years. Not having access to it anymore really hurts. Christian did such a phenomenal job of making Apollo feel incredibly intuitive and customizable without feeling overly cluttered. I’m really going to miss spending my time lurking over there.

‘The Bear’ Feasts in Streaming Rankings
  • I think the second season has a bit of a different rhythm to it than the first. It made it a little tricky getting into the start of the season, but I feel like once I got used to it, it didn’t bother me so much. Especially after rewatching it a few times.

  • To add on to that, I think the episodes and moments, especially in the second season, devoted to growing each character really help balance out the sheer chaos of the show. Watching them evolve and mature made me cry more than once this season. I can’t wait to do it again in season three.

    Reddit is probably already dead.
  • Maybe the posts that show up in /all differ from person to person? I don’t know. They don’t bother me too much, but depending on the day/time of day, I’ve seen a number of them come up back to back. I do enjoy a good meme so I happy to see that community thriving here.

Describe your job in the most stereotypical and ignorant manner as possible
  • Good guess, but no to that as well. A lot of people in my career area have some degree of coding experience. I’ve done some coding and thought about going back to school for it but I think I’d miss getting to do the work that I do now.

Yeah, I’m not the best cook but I do enjoy it at the hobby level and don’t believe I’d survive in an intense kitchen situation. I’ve learned at least that much from watching The Bear haha.

Describe your job in the most stereotypical and ignorant manner as possible
  • I prep the stuff, put it in a machine, and pray everything looks okay when it comes out. I also prep other stuff, load it onto a different machine, and hope everything comes out looking okay. And then there’s a whole different set of stuff that I prep a lot of, check to make sure it looks okay, then send to a different team who will prep it in a completely different way.
