Space Engineers... S76 engineers should name themselves that.
Very nice work! Consider adding your project to COSMIC Project Collection.
You’d have to open a lot more windows and text editors to accomplish what cosmic-tweaks does, I’d argue that’s more annoying than simply opening an app and toggling a setting.
The hope is that these setting one day will make its way to the official settings apps, in the meantime, we got cosmic-tweaks.
None of these settings are available in cosmic-settings yet, if one day there's a need for them, we could port this implementation to the settings app and remove them from cosmic-tweaks.
I made this to experiment with COSMIC without having to change config files manually, after realizing this could be useful to other people I decided to announce it, but it’s designed for tinkerers, you don’t “need” this to have a good experience with COSMIC.
COSMIC Tweaks gives you granular control over everything you can do in COSMIC.
This app aims to help you tweak settings that are not currently available in COSMIC Settings.
Here's what the app can do so far:
-
✨ Color schemes: Save your current theme and import other themes to use anytime you want.
-
⚙️ Panels: Fine-tune your panel padding and spacing.
COSMIC Tweaks is just getting started, and more features are on the way!
Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Are you referring to the app icon or the icons in the application?
The application is still being actively developed but I wanted to share my experience working on it.
While working with libcosmic, a pre-alpha library, I was pleasantly surprised by the available resources. Unlike many early-stage projects, libcosmic has well-written documentation that clearly explains core concepts and functionalities. Beyond the documentation, the project provides practical examples showcasing common use cases and real applications being actively developed.
But libcosmic's true strength lies in its community, the team at S67 has been incredibly supportive, not only did they answer questions promptly but also actively contribute to the project's growth. This kind of collaborative spirit fosters a welcoming environment for developers of all levels.
I've had the opportunity to contribute back to the project and my contributions were well received, the willingness of the S67 team to collaborate and integrate contributions ensures that libcosmic will continue to evolve and empower developers to create next-generation desktop applications.
Join the community, delve into the code, and be part of shaping the future of COSMIC.
COSMIC Project Collection
I created a GitHub repository to showcase COSMIC projects.
I included the projects I could find but if you have an project and want to include it, please open a pull request with your project added to the applications.ron
or applets.ron
file.
Either Kotlin or Flutter
libcosmic has everything you need to create applications and applets, it has a widget collection and utilizes iced.rs as the foundation.
I'm working on COSMIC To-do, a To-do app for the new COSMIC desktop.
It's very much still a WIP.
Christian always makes cool stuff happen! Great work buddy :)
Having less employees might actually help improve quality assuming a good leadership is in place.

I have wished this for years now, the most seamless experience I’ve gotten from Apple Music is picking where to play music from my Apple Watch, but this is not the same as what you’re saying, it does not transition your currently playing song to other devices, just lets you control playback on other devices.
Tiling is already so good!
