  • And the political raping continues. They're turning out to be that really bad neighbor no one wants, on steroids.

  • Hate to be mean, but good. What worries me about these guys is if they can't get the money (semi) honestly, they seem to find ways of taking/stealing it.

  • I seriously don't think I've ever encountered another person to get into so much shite and face zero consequences.

  • Hmm, yes, maybe. Antisocial, avoidant/hyper sensitive to criticism, dependency disorder/on musk, histrionic/attention seeking, obsessive compulsive, narcissistic. Crap, he's got 'em all.

  • I dunno, I'd say the fact that they wanna invade our country is a pretty big chit sandwich.

  • Multiple would make sense, but seems like just one personality🤪👀

  • Sadly, I've seen it aimed at pretty much anyone who's of a different race. I don't know how Canada compares to other countries that way, but I've definitely seen way too much of it in Canada.

  • If you'd said 1, I would have believed you.

  • Canadian here, I feel the exact same way... like why is no one taking a firm stand against this guy!

  • I'm Canadian and have known some very racist Canadians. In fact, the most racist man I ever knew was a Canadian. Far as I can tell, racism is everywhere and always an ignorant thing.

  • Would love to be in the guy's head for just 5 minutes, to see if he's high or crazy or what.

  • All thanks to the greatest, brightest, most powerful, best at everything nation in the world🤪

  • How many people have you won over?

  • Something about a little horse having 20/20 after it's left the barn too late.

  • There's a season for everything, even for evil, but it won't last forever.

A monolithic and ruthless conspiracy: What was John F. Kennedy referring to?

What was John F. Kennedy referring to when he said “a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy”?

The President and the Press: Address before the American Newspaper Publishers Association, April 27, 1961

    Excerpt

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced

Have you ever had a 100% original thought? And if so, what was it?

Nope, not me... I'm still trying.

I've been posting the link to lemmy.ca wherever I can, like over at YouTube for instance... and I wanted to make sure that's ok before finding out it's not for some reason.

    So, is that ok?

US Tariffs Spark Devastating Canadian Travel Boycott Threatening Michigan’s Tourism Industry

Travel and Tour World - Feb 16/25

    Excerpt:

The recent announcement of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods has ignited a strong backlash among Canadian travelers, leading to widespread cancellations of vacations to the United States. Michigan, a state that relies heavily on Canadian tourists, stands to lose millions in revenue as a result of this growing boycott. With Canada serving as the top international source of U.S. visitors, a decline in Canadian tourism could severely impact Michigan’s tourism sector, which contributes significantly to the state’s economy.

Links won't open in new tab.

In settings, I've checked 'open links in new tab', but it doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

ETA Someone suggested I try a different interface, and turns out it works fine in alex.lemmy.ca, just not lemmy.ca. So problem is at least kind of solved! Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to help!
