Kamala Harris Refused to Meet With Uncommitted About Gaza — and Uncommitted Refused to Endorse Her
  • The decision by Uncommitted not to back Harris may not hamper her chances at winning the White House in November, but it bodes poorly for the progress Democrats had aspired to make in engaging disenchanted voters — not just their Arab and Muslim constituents.

I mean, the Uncommitted org is pretty much a single issue org so there's not much to work with or talk about. I still think when Kamala wins there will be a course change concerning Israel because Democrats know how important holding the White House for 12 years is. Right now the Presidential election is more important than single issue voters.

Trump Cancels a Debate With Harris on ABC News and Pitches One With Fox News Instead
  • When Trump was in office foreign translators got a ton of shit for doing thier job. So many non English speaking people thought the translators were drunk. That made more sense at the time than The President of the United States of America actually saying the things he said. There was also the time he got laughed at by the entire United Nations.

    Sidebar update: Civility
  • One of the things wrong with reddit is you are told to report comments. Mods delete and ban the ones they don't like. They keep the ones they like.

This works well if you agree with mods and agree with approved trolls...

One of the things that went wrong with reddit, is some mods weaponized that rule itself, using it to provide immunity to rule breakers they agreed with by banning people who reported the rule breaking behavior.

Plummeting battery prices in China may normalise EVs globally - electrive.com
  • I've yet to find USA made. But here's what I know.

    https://www.18650batterystore.com/
    https://szluyuan.en.alibaba.com/
    https://diysolarforum.com/

1st one is out of Georgia, USA. If you sign up for email they will let you know when sales happen. I've only ordered cylindrical. I missed a 50% off sale on cylindrical the other day because I decided to go LFP cylindrical but haven't made it around to buying any yet.

2nd is where I bought my 280ah prismatics direct from China.

3rd has good info and where you catch Amy sometimes. She is the 2nd link. Sometimes people organize a group buy to help with costs.

When I bought from China (awhile back) it was the best deal at the time but more important the reseller is solid (Amy) and came highly recommend from the forums. At the end of the day I wanted cells in good condition and no funny business. If you talk to them they will work with you but they are limited to what they can do. Don't waste their time. Keep in mind the time zone and language issue. I'm not sure where things are at now since all the new laws as I bought a shit ton before "The War On Green Energy".

BMW is Selling Fully-Electric 3-Series in China for €24k
  • They use the software. They don't use the driving dynamics.

There's models that have expensive driving dynamics though.

It's like in USA people want pickup trucks and SUV and cheap EVs but we banned cheap EVs.

Or look at people waiting in lines for a cell phone.

China is further ahead with EVs and they've been available longer. They are at the point where manufacturers have to do more to attract customers away from competitors.

In USA GM discontinued it's best selling EV in history.

  • Yeah but those Chinese EVs made in Mexico sold at a much lower price will not be sold in USA.

People in Mexico already buy Chinese EVs. It'll just be cheaper.

China has no plans to sell in USA while the laws and tariffs change as soon as the US government finds out Volvo is planning to import a Chinese made EV and sell it for $35,000.

Volvo's new EX90 electric SUV will launch with the 'world's first' EV battery passport
  • Like all BMS track this data. Every EV has a BMS. Most apps let you access this data. It's up to the EV maker to block this data from EV owners.

This is a great step in the right direction but doesn't change the beauty of buying used EVs vs ICE. App on phone and OBD scanner. Don't need a mechanic inspection.

Nevada put big battery energy storage where a coal plant used to be
  • Home battery banks are a thing. EVs also work. We are moving towards virtual power plants and micro grids just that most power grids were not designed for power consumers to also be power generators. They are working through the technical standards like OCPP. ...

The large-scale electrification of vehicles, fleets, and marine ports presents a threat to the grid, and as such it is crucial to bring chargers into the equation of energy demand and response systems. The combination of the OCPP with the Open Automated Demand Response (OpenADR) protocol or the Open Smart Charging Protocol (OSCP) turns a charger into a flexibility provider that can react to changes in demand response (DR) within a distributed energy resource (DER) energy ecosystem. Accordingly, an uninformed charging process can be converted into a smart technique, which is able to throttle or postpone a charging process based on currently and locally available grid capacity.
