Starfield's first story expansion, Shattered Space is releasing September 30.
  • If that sounds appealing, and you enjoy Bethesda games in general, you should at least give it a shot on Game pass. Personally I really enjoyed the moment to moment gameplay - shooting, exploring, talking to people - but the loading screens can potentially ruin the enjoyment if you're expecting a seamless world.

What is your favourite board game?
  • This is mine too. I don't really like board games, but Ticket to Ride really clicked with me and I had a blast playing it. Will get it for myself but damn it's expensive (I guess that's a problem with board games in general, and I do see the value of the investment).

Pixel 6 Pro to Pixel 9
  • I have a 6P currently and ordered the regular size 9P. Waiting for it to come in still, but looking forward to it.

My 6P was RMAd last year so the battery is still good, but I'm hoping to still experience a nice upgrade. Otherwise I might return it.

  • I haven't logged in yet, but Newsmast is an app that runs off of Mastodon. Could be what you're looking for (but I also might misunderstand what the app actually does).

Concord Is Estimated to Have Sold Only 25,000 Units. Here’s Why Analysts Think It’s Failing
  • Not really surprising given how it looked (like a generic ripoff), how it's priced (should be free), and how it was marketed (every conversation I enter starts with a chain of comments saying it's the first they've heard of it).

What is surprising to me is how much a Sony first party game missed the mark. I can't think of any other recent examples.

Why People Arent Buying Sony Xperia Phones
  • A15 is probably the last major update for P6P.

Not sure about security patches though, which are arguably more important.

Also there's always custom roms for Pixel phones.

Under Meredith Whittaker, Signal Is Out to Prove Surveillance Capitalism Wrong
  • I've seen doubt of it's push to pack products into it's offering ala Google - however I don't see that as enough to call it not good.

It's also very easy (and suspicious imo) for anyone to call a service not good without any reason to back it up.

Weekly what have you been playing discussion - week of August 26th, 2024
  • I picked up Payday 3 a few weeks ago and have been playing that. Definitely undercooked compared to the second game, but I am happy to have new Payday. First MP game I've played in over a year, and will likely be my last for a while.

  • Boost also. I had it for Reddit but used Sync mostly. I open Lemmy on my phone a few times a week, so found Sync for Lemmy a bit too pricy. Love Boost!

Starbucks is reeling as customers go elsewhere, sales decline
  • I like MacDonalds coffee, but it is acidic, which I equate to the 'breakfast blend' Latin American type coffee that I assume it is. I can absolutely see that as tasting awful to some palates.

Also has been some years since I had the hot coffee. I did have their ice coffee a few years ago, and it was solidly okay for 1 CAD.

  • I usually scroll one-handed with my right hand, so having the upvote/downvote buttons available on the right side rather than the left would be ideal.

Otherwise a swipe to upvote/downvote would work too!

They work by giving you a random email address that is available for a short time (ex. 10min) and an inbox for any messages you recieve during that time (ex. an email verification message from a Lemmy server)

I didn't want to recommend a specific one, however Googling "temporary email" should give you several options to choose from.
