Internet Archive Was Exposing User Email Addresses for Years Before Recent Breach
  • Funny because of the "not a paywall" on the article which the intent is to force the user into providing their email address to read the entire article.

Where are the old (30s) granpa gamers?
  • Same here. I've got a handful of friends that only want to talk about the latest call of duty or rainbow six, but I'm just not into the competitive gameplay. I just want to play the game. Single player is the way I go and I play it because it's like an immersive movie. I get to control the character and see the story unfold, it's like magic. Every now and then I get to talk about how amazing the story in that one game was, and it's just like talking about a movie, but I don't play the single player games solely for the purpose of being able to talk about it. I got to experience it, and play it the way I wanted.

Instead of "X", how about we all call it "the website formerly known as Twitter" from now on?
  • Oh I agree. It gets more difficult over time though, as more people begin to only know the entity by the new name. I'm not a Twitter user so I really don't care about the new "X" name, but I still know and will forever know that Spectrum is Comcast and Lumen is Century Link, because I care deeply about the bullshit they are about. And will I continue to remember Twitter for what it is no matter the name they decide to go by. I was mainly pointing out that they do in fact have the right in the law to rebrand, to put a thin veil over their previous mishaps.
