Why Kamala Harris should pick Tim Walz as running mate | Mehdi Hasan
  • I just warched Tim Walz presentation at this year's ESRI user conference. To keep it brief he talked about using modern GIS software to solve today's problems. He was absolutely fantastic.

  • do you mean dense? I would say bagels are dense. But when talking about bread I could see how dry and dense could be similar.

What's the most popular activity you could never get into?
  • Yeah, Taylor Swift used to date him, and she wrote a song about it. The fans don't exactly like her exes much after she does a song about one of them. Most of the time she kinda sounds like the victim in the lyrics but I think she's written some 'I fucked up' songs. But this is all hear say through my wife, so take the necessary grains of salt.

A cool guide to currency names
  • Wow, doesn't even have the balls to add the Canadian loonie into the mix. They just lump us in with the rest of the dollar gang...

Montrealer who dumped water on unhoused man's face issues public apology.
  • I think the only reason this happens is because people associate negativity with a group of people for long enough to tie the negativity to the phrase or word itself. Homeless used to be the sensative replacement for Hobo. After enough time, this new name will just be another tag people can use hatefully.

edit: I must admit, though, I can't see "someone experiencing homelessness" making a very impactful slur.

    Time by Ron Francis
  • I think the old man is the important piece of the picture. Our entire lives are spent climbing away from inescapable death. No matter what we do, a missed hand hold will eventually result in the fall into blackness. The old mans body is bound to fail him, and he will fall.

The thing I like most is the light that the subject of the painting is climbing towards. Sometimes, when I am in a situation where a negative outcome is unchangeable, I don't want to deal with it at all. why play the game of life when we all lose, sort of thing. I think the light is what makes it worth traversing the perils of the pit. I think the light is the things that make life worth living.

But I'm just some dude, and that's what I see. I think someone smarter will be able to tell me I'm wrong.

    I'm guilty, lol
  • Do you guys remember when lol was the response you would receive to a message? I wonder when we started switching to saying it on the end of our sentences?

  • Has anyone else had any issues with the connects battery usage? It seems like my phone is dying before it makes it to the charger each night. when I check the usage stats connect is right there at the top of the list. typically when I used sync for reddit I had between 30 and 50 percent left at the end of the day. I feel like I don't use connect that much either.
