  • Agree, however if debates do have any impact on an election (Biden dropping out being an exception) it's to sway disengaged and swing voters. So Trump just plays to his base I think that would qualify as a loss for him.

  • The 60hz screen is ridiculous. They need to make the phone WAY cheaper and acknowledge it's mid-tier. But Apple want it both ways - a premium brand charging premium prices and then shovelling bottom-end specs to funnel you to the even-more-expensive models.

I hate the stupidly low base storage, but personally am not impacted due to my usage patterns and having cheap cloud storage so I'm not as passionate with my disdain!

  • Flat white is always made with some milk foam on top, traditionally less than a Latte.

So the difference should be in the ratio of coffee to milk to froth, which is also true of other varieties like cortado.

  • This is such a thorough and comprehensive takedown, I am impressed.

  • There's nothing in the article but Meta PR! It's not factual reporting, and Fox has done nothing to corroborate the claims and provide actual analysis.

Zuckerberg is vague about what he was asked to "censor" (humour and satire?) but also makes clear that Facebook rebuffed officials and all that happened was that those officials expressed frustration. What's the actual allegation here? Zuck got hurt feelings?

Zuck refers to Facebook's mission as "helping people connect in a safe and secure way" to try and downplay the Cambridge Analytics scandal the fact that they're are an ad platform first and foremost. This is Meta prop.

  • Muted mics make him look like he's being civil and letting Harris talk.

Hot mic presents two interesting possibilities:

    1. He tries on his "low IQ" and "she suddenly decided to be black" attack lines and Harris calls him out so he looks like a fucking asshole to the average voter.
    2. He DOESNT try on his "low IQ" and "she suddenly decided to be black" attack lines and Harris calls back to her "say it to my face" line and paints him as a weak coward for the rest of the campaign.
  • 7 for effort.

    8 if it's executed well.

9 and up if it's actually a creative and fun game with good mechanics, no MTX, etc.

It just makes the rating system pointless.

  • According to the article, the owner who was sued stated in court:

when she was asked if she would accept a transgender woman as female if they had medically transitioned and were legally recognised as one, she "would not view that person as a woman".

So it sounds like a case of the owner wanting to apply their own view without regard for how the law recognises gender in this day and age.

  • I'm the opposite too, for a different reason to you. I have Sonos home theatre (soundbar, sub, rear speakers) and Chromecast with Google TV hooked up to the TV. I control music on a pixel phone or pixel tablet through the Chromecast, Sonos kinda just hangs off on the edge of my ecosystem and I don't think about it. I maybe use the app a few times a year.

But I get why if you just have a few speakers it would be a pain to use the app.

  • he brought Corey Lewandowski back to oversee the campaign managers

Who he previously fired as campaign manager in 2016. His campaign is a total shitshow.

  • I used to use the PSVR2 subreddit to stay on top of releases and reviews, so I appreciate your posts here on Lemmy 🙏

I saw you posted about the AZ Sunshine remake - that's good news and hopefully they're still stuff coming even though Sony aren't really doing first party development.

  • This is amazing news, it's an incredible VR title. But I'm surprised they're releasing as the bottom falls out of PSVR2.

  • Yeah, that headline is atrocious. The reality of the situation is sensational enough, I'd argue dialling up the outrage actually diminishes the impact.

  • Tango Works shutdown rightly attracted a lot of attention and criticism, but it's the closure of Roll7 and other small indies who hustled hard and punched above their weight that really bummed me out.

  • It's a satire piece meant to highlight the absurdity of conservative positions despite how they are presented matter-of-fact in the mainstream. Would love a non paywalled linked to read it all.

  • I'm not up to speed on the discovery you linked. It appears to be a vulnerability that can't be exploited remotely? If so, how is this the same as Intel chips causing widespread system instability?

  • Sure, you can do things that will supplement [state's abortion bans]. Absolutely. And those things are pretty open, and humane, but you have to be able to have a vote, and all I want to do is give everybody a vote, and the votes are taking place right now as we speak.

Mixing in some garbled response about voting in what should otherwise be a straightforward response tells you everything you need. His addled brain betrays his real stance: "I'll go with whatever gets me the most votes, I don't give a shit about the actual issue".

  • Deal maker Donnie really doing deals here. Looks like he's basically caved.

Watch MAGA base desperately ignore another obvious example yet again if his tough words and weak actions not lining up.

  • Elon sees himself as a truth teller discovering and interpreting information that is outside the mainstream, using his deep and savvy knowledge of the world to understand what is and isn't important or relevant and using his platform to promote it. He thinks he's the only person with the courage to speak the truth.

In reality he's just the 2024 equivalent of a boomer forwarding stupid email chains from his inbox without the slightest inclination to confirm what he's posting or ability to tell the real world from obvious fakery.
