Different people prefer different nomenclature, but the generally accepted standard has switched from native American a couple decades ago to American Indian now. IIRC the change happened because calling people natives sometimes seems synonymous with calling them primitive. Most US tribal groups use American Indian now
I needed a better organization tool to keep track of tasks and todos, and I read about org mode on lemmy. I ended up following this tutorial and then building my own templates once I understood everything. It's fantastic now that I have it a little customized, makes it so quick and easy to keep notes.
I switched from vim to emacs a couple weeks ago specifically for org mode and it has legit changed the way I work.
Def not Kamala. A buddy and I were throwing around ideas earlier and he mentioned Michelle, which threw me off but I think she would have just as much of a chance as anyone.
Not disagreeing with you at all, you made a pretty good point. But when engineering the prompt takes 80% of the effort that just writing the essay (or code for that matter) would take, I think most people would rather write it themselves.
He polled 7 points better against Trump than Hillary did in 2016. Although that being said, it seems pretty well accepted that the polling was pretty unreliable in 2016.
I think some of these people have to be trolls. We're basically in the trolley problem where the trolley is headed for 100,000 people, and if you pull the lever it will only kill 1. You can't abstain from pulling the lever and act like you're completely innocent of the deaths of the masses.
This was a great read, thanks for sharing!
I was playing pokemon with my 7 year old nephew and he kept saying "{x pokemon} has sick moves bro", so maybe that time has already come. Although to be fair he also said "These noodles are on god" and then leaned over and whispered "that means really good." So maybe he's not exactly the best arbiter of gen alpha vernacular lol
What a stupid thing to spend energy getting upset about. I'm a bigger than average dude and I'd pick the bear as well; humans are capable of all kinds of villainy, bears are just bears. I'd like to find the statistics on women attacked by bears in the woods compared to women attacked by men, it has to be overwhelming more common to be attacked by a man.
This reminds me of A Softer World , which was a webcomic series I absolutely loved for years. It was mostly short, sometimes comedic, sometimes poignant phrases paired with photography and this sounds exactly like something that would be on there.
It is some places, in the US it varies state by state.

It's how we did it for $10 in 2012 as well
My favorite is when he got caught masturbating in public and responded with "If only it were as easy to banish hunger by rubbing the belly." Or when Plato was teaching a class and defined a man as a featherless biped, and Diogenes brought a plucked chicken to the class and said "Behold, Plato's man!"
Okay quick question, my hair is about halfway down my back. I wash twice a week, but even on the days I don't wash, I still rinse and blow dry. Should I not be rinsing either on days that I don't wash? I didn't have long hair till I was 25, so I missed out on a lot of the tips and tricks.

I imagine they thought it might sound better coming from a person of Jewish faith rather than from an 81 year devout catholic.
Tree law was one of the few subreddits that I would actually read everytime I saw a post pop up in my feed. Something so satisfying about a good case of tree law.
Second season comes out in July! I'm hyped, I loved the comic
