    strange problem debugging wireguard tunnel

hi. I am having trouble setting upo a wireguard tunnel in order to bypass my CGNAT ISP limitations. So I hired a VPS with a static IP and connect it to my local ("postcloud") home server in order to expose it to the internet

I have done this same thing before but I don't know what is happening now that it is not working. I have checked the keys and regenerated them numerous times.

I am following this guide that a friend and me composed: https://hackmd.io/@geoma/Hykh8qTQgl

and here are the outputs I get of common debugging commands, in both machines (postcloud home server and the VPS): https://hackmd.io/@geoma/B1CvIca7gg

any help or suggestion is deeply appreciated, I am really intrigued of what may be happening (this problem started because I had to reformat and reinstall Debian on the VPS because somehow it turned unbootable)

    thanks!

  • Same for me. If you are interested in ease of use, instagram and x do the job AFAIK. But if you are interested in a resilient decentralized platform (and the future of humanity in a non dystopian world), bluesky is not one (although it pretends to be). So for me its mastodon and pixelfed all the way.

  • Congratulations, for what is important is you are reaching this empathy and consciousness now. You could try digging inside yourself (maybe therapy?) for what was behind your anger, and you could also try doing something to repair to those you wronged, but keep going, it might not be the easiest path but it's the wholesome one

  • EndeavourOS because of the AUR

  • Yeah, I used to think the same... I dont know much programming (at least not enough to collaborate), but I usually help translating, documenting or answering some forums... Maybe it's not much but it helps a littlw

  • Have you tried collaborating to the project in some way or other? I think we in this capitalist world are frequently used of being given a solution, usually paid, sometimes for free (at least apparently). IMHO the change of paradigm has to do with first aligning with the ethics we wish for our world and humanity (I doubt anybody besides Adobe shareholders could cherish the idea of a world that using its products contributes to), and then putting all of our will and efforts in supporting the initiatives that make sense to our deep inner wishes for this world. How much are we willing to open ourselves to something like a different workflow if it makes sense with our ethics? The thing is that the paradigm perpetuates itself by us having being familiarized with it since we were kids. (Think Windows or Adobe in schools or Universities, although you could certainly bring this example to other spheres of human endeavours). Kids won't break it... We need adults that, although have been indoctrinated with the old ways, have enough will power to open these new doors and create new realities for the children of the future.

  • I think I am near your age. I learned spreadsheets on Lotus 123 on DOS and programming with Microsoft Qbasic.

I have now learned to use libre software, like Qgis, Inkscape,Gimp, etc. It is the way to go, for resilience and for the world we want to leave to our descendants. I thinkfreecasd can be harder, but librecad is pretty similar to classic AutoCAD, if I am not wrong.

  • I thibk it's a good AutoCAD 2000 replacement

  • I have no idea It's just a vague feeling, not based in any experience whatsoever. What about resource usage?

  • I have the idea that friendica is kinda old/outdated... Am I mistaken?

  • Totally. Please keep kids away from screens as long as possible.

For this laptop I recommend mx linux fluxbox edition. You also have a 32 bit version.

  • Because of bandwagon effect. The more people use linux, then even more will. And itll get more support from software and hardware developers. And the world will be more free, safe, and not controlled by a big corp.

  • I still haven't found a web service that really needs a chrome browser or that you cant' just trick with changing the user agent

Rick Beato making clear what is happening on the music scene just as Cory Doctorow or Adam Conover talk about the Internet. Please remember to use frontends like Grayjay, NewPipe, Freetube or invidio.us to watch videos like these.

fediverse platform for a schools community network

I am looking to host a fediverse platform for a community of non-tech people. These people use mostly ig and some still fb. These people are from a network of schools which are ideologically aligned with libre software and decentralisation. It will include adults and also teenagers, who mostly use IG. This is part of a plan of a massive migration to ethical platforms. I am trying to choose the fittest fediverse solution to these, also considering that I am not sure how much my home server will be capable of sustaining, so the platform should ideally be as lightweight as possible. I am considering mastodon, pixelfed, misskey and sharkey, and some people have suggested akkoma.

    What would you recommend? Thanks!!

    Android personal budget app recommendation

Looking for a pretty, easy to use app to register my expenses and incomes and then get charts telling me how much I am spending on real needs or on luxuries and things like that. It has to be for Android, not an abandoned project, and libre software. It has to have an easy interface that allows me to enter records with minimal hassle.

I've researched a little and narrowed down to this:

Any recommendations? Or a new one I didn't find? thanks!

UPDATE: Money Manager EX gives a an error and somehow I missed what I entered. Buckwheat crashes. My Expenses seems OK but is not as straightforward as Oinkoin

Mobilizon v/s Nextcloud (v/s other?) for a network of people event calendar

I have been given the task of finding a proper platform for building a network of education, medical and other initiatives in my country, that have all the same focus (I am sorry I can't give details yet on the project, but you could probably could get a grasp of the idea if you think in something like a church whose attendants have a lot of different church-related initiatives)

Until this day, there are only isolated, individual projects, but we want a network that connects them all. So I think we will be setting up a fediverse instance for this (Still trying to decide between Pixelfed, Mastodon and Firefish), but, before that, we need to solve a simpler issue: a Calendar of Events. The idea would be that different users can add their events and all these get inside one single calendar (and you can filter by categories, etc.) Would mobilizon be the best fit for this? because at first I was thinking in making a nextcloud install, wich could satisfy the events calendar need and could

I know 100℅ of the world top 500 supercomputers use linux, and around 65℅ of world servers. I want more info like this to help me campaign towards GNU/Linux use. Thanks.

In what cases is a DRAM-less SSD good enough?

Where I live, DRAM-less SSDs are a lot cheaper (half the price). Most sources online say "go for an SSD with DRAM". But I wonder, are cases in which a DRAM-less SSD will do just fine?

My main focus is resurrecting old laptops (from 2006 to 2015), installing GNU/Linux and an sometimes investing in an SSD will give them a performance boost, but the budget is limited because I can't sella uch an old laptop at a non very budgety price.

Looking for fediverse platform for a minimal corporate website.

Some friends have websites. I encourage them to do. But they have them only to publish contact info, opening times, and a couple of photos of their business. What would be the best fediverse platform for this? Of course being able to post/toot news every now and then, is also a good feature.
