Apple Is Lobbying Against Right to Repair Six Months After Supporting Right to Repair
  • Can't vs won't. I have no doubt that they could do it, but apple didn't get to be one of the most powerful companies in the world by doing the thing that is cheaper for the user.

    Anyone using Lidarr?
  • I started using Lidarr. I have had a bit of a hard time with it not being able to just grab a song.

I think this is more in how I have my expectations and workflow set up. It works great for what it's built for, I need to spend some time to adjust.

I use it with the Deemix plugin and that is great.

    Which pill do you choose?
  • Are we talking $10 M pre or post tax?

Post tax, $10M 100%. Not having to work and retiring immediately would be amazing.

I do like the recursive option of the red pill. Do a few loops and find the optimal path.

What's the purpose of multiple quality profiles existing in parallel in Radarr/Sonarr?
  • My use case is that I grab house hunters for background tv. Do I need that at high quality? No definitely not. For most shows I'm at 1080p, then for shows/movies I really like I'll grab higher quality.

Do you use virtual credit cards?
  • I use Privacy on a rare basis. It doesn't require a browser plugin, you can just log into their site and copy/paste the information.

It is worth it for me as I use it to sign up for "free" trials that require credit cards and then I don't have to worry about getting charged.

A note about credit cards, if you have a history of payments with a company, that company can ask the issuer for an updated number after you get a new card number. If it works then they just store the updated number and keep up the subscription.

    Travel Ergo Advice
  • I have the Lily58 with low profile switches. I can travel with that very easily. Takes up about the same amount of space as my kindle with a case and keeps me typing happily.

I built mine for around $300USD.

New to NAS - What are the recommended solutions?
  • Do you have any old hardware that doesn't have a job? That is a great place to start. Take some time try out different solutions (proxmox, unraid, casa OS). Then as you nail down your needs you can better pick hardware.

[Discussion] I have a spare Dualsense controller that I may use on ps5, use that or buy something like the 8bitdo ultimate?
  • I would keep with what you have. If you don't have a compelling reason to get something new it's not really worth it. That is how I try to look at it. Helps me save money and the planet

What I have done is follow my interest and curiosity. It has served me well in the technology industry

Conservatives go to red states and liberals go to blue as the country grows more polarized
  • I would throw Texas on that cession hope as well. Too many people in power that have negative empathy for anyone that isn't white, male, rich, and fascist conservative
