It took me til halfway through Act 2 to realize you're supposed to click on roll bonuses like Guidance before rolling in order for them to be added to your total
I worked at a small family-owned coffee shop for a while. They were proud of the fact they paid 25 cents over minimum wage. I'll be honest, the tips were good and I was averaging roughly $28/hr with tips. Tips paid with card were taxed, and cash tips were uh... well, you're supposed to report those technically.
But if we wasted so much as a napkin or an ounce of milk there would be repremands. Meanwhile the owners upgraded their Tesla and bought themselves a second house to rent out for supplemental income.
I don't blame the tippers. Employers can afford to pay a fair wage. They're selfish and they can't manage their own business properly.
Ever play Monopoly?
I certainly don't know enough code! With AI now though I don't think any amount of learning would land me a job sadly.
And thanks! I do like it here.
Now that's how you title an article. Bravo, Vanity Fair.
Non-tech user here. Well I'm tech-minded I think, and tech-savvy. I know enough code to say that I thoroughly dislike PHP and Javascript. But that's about it.
I think "fediverse" and "instances" are terms many non-tech-oriented might find confusing. and off-putting, maybe because they're not immediately intuitive. I'm aware of the concept of instancing but wasn't sure how or where to create an account at first. I made an account on world because I figured I'd probably see more content there? I don't know.
And making a new account for each instance? I'm not entirely sure if that's how it works yet but that's my understanding. It's intimidating, it's daunting. Plus I'm not as tech savvy as a lot of the people here. It's not that it's uninviting, really--quite the opposite, in fact--but I still have this imposter syndrome-like feeling that I'm not supposed to be here.
Idk. That's my take.
It's basically bots vs admins now. Most pixels are places by new accounts or by entities without accounts at all.
The highlight this year is going to be that animation by the Osu! I think.
It's almost entirely schilling bots and reddit admins fighting protesters attvis point. And Germans and a really cool animation.
Used Sync since it came out, will be using it again when it's on lemmy! I appreciate that the Connect interface is pretty similar.
