Android users who don't use the stock launcher - what launcher do you use, and what do you like about it?
  • I use smart launcher. Have for probably 7 or 8 years. Never paid for it... Free version is perfectly functional. Pixel 6 pro.

I have six icons on my home screen, I love the double tap feature that can launch another app from those home screen apps. The app pages take no more than 3 buttons to find any app since it is sorted by letter or category.

It's easy. I haven't even really thought about using anything else.

How to get over not having a good college experience?
  • My college experience was similar. It ultimately led nowhere for me. I don't have a single contact anymore from my college. I don't work in the field my degree was in. It really only served to show me what I didn't want in life in retrospect. While I still had some fun and enriching experiences, college was only the reason I was where those took place. I graduated almost 10 years ago. College was basically the next highschool for me which I look back and think was a waste of time. 10 years on, I barely remember anything I learned.

Life gets better after college. Don't worry about it. Cheers pal.

LemmyTools 0.2.0.7 is released! Now with Top Bar as default! Browser addon news: LemmyTools functionality is being explored to go into the "Instance Assistant for kbin & lemmy!" by cynber!
  • Perhaps, I see why it's not working. The old.site doesn't have the lemmy identifier tag that I'm using to detect and run the script only on lemmy sites. I'll see if it's possible without too much work.

  • There is a save/close button in the options near the bottom. Yeah, the image expand can get weird. Try setting by a pixel value for more uniform images but may skew depending on ration. Expanding still gets weird after reaching it's actual size on either setting.

Issue Report - 0.18.0 - Unable to see my own posts in communities unless sorting by "Top". Issue resolved itself after a few hours.

New Issue: I've been on 0.18 since the day of release without any major issues... After a reboot of my VPS after seeing some very high CPU utilization and errors about postgress queries panic in the lemmy service. I rebooted, my server, I made a few posts after during that time and they were not appearing in any communities I posted to. However, on my profile I could see them, and in the communities I could see them if I sorted by "top, hour, day, etc...". I could tell some others were seeing them as I got upvotes and a comment or two. About 8 hours later, the issue persists for those posts. However, I made a new post now and it is viewable with normal sorts.

So, best guess, my lemmy service was FUBAR for awhile after the reboot, I had a persisting high CPU utilization that I can only describe as "odd" that I need to dig more into. I need to grep some lemmy logs to see what happened. I also changed my root password to be safe. Be vigilant y'all.

    Just a report.
