In the most recent blog post on NetBSD, they said:

> And as an (unexpected) bonus support for the Nintendo Wii has been added to the evbppc port.

Looks like they have instructions on how to run it in the mailinglist https://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-powerpc/2024/01/27/msg003636.html and a video of it as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-MShCcFm_w.

It's exciting that the WII can potentially be used for general computing tasks.

Unsupported Acer Chromebook Repurposed as Linux Writing Laptop
  • Amazing stuff! I've been doing the same when I run into an old laptop from a friend or family I try to fix it up and give it to someone else. Where do you get your ewaste stuff to fix?

    FreedomBox is amazing!
  • Haven't tried yunohost unfortunately I think I chose FreedomBox because it was built-in with Debian. Do you use yunohost yourself?

    FreedomBox is amazing!
  • I haven't used it that long but it seems like I do have the control if I want to! Like for example I configured rspamd to obfuscate IP addresses in the logs (other people use this server so I don't want to see the subjects of their emails), and I also installed plugins for Roundcube as well to enable sieve filtering. I'm inexperienced though perhaps you're referring to something else when it comes to control?

  • I've been using FreedomBox with a few friends for about two months now, and it's been wonderful. I set up a little server for friends and family, and I love that it lets people like me who don't have as much self-hosting experience to get started quickly.

    Has anyone here tried it?

tothetreesfilm.com To The Trees | A Film by Eleanor Goldfield

To The Trees highlights forest defense tactics in Northern California while calling into question our current relationships to nature, how we might reframe them, and why that's vital to our survival and a livable future. ToTheTreesFilm.com

I thought I'd share this wonderful film about forest defenders and why they do what they do.
