What is your favourite open source software that you discovered in the past year, that you can no longer live without?
  • I've never had anything bad happen to my library, but I do back it up regularly. The only "bad" thing might be there's often breaking changes where you just need to update your docker compose yml when you pull a new immich update.

  • for this case it was a plan that's pretty discounted and also unlimited without hard throttle. they don't want people using it on computers or game consoles probably

  • the only reason I've wanted to be rooted in recent years is when I didn't have hotspot on my plan and the most complete way around that was with root.

    I think I would like a degoogled Lineage/Graphene OS though

  • I'm actually upset you can't use Nest Audio speakers as audio out. Apple TV lets you do it with home pods, Google said they were working on it, guess they were too busy adding AI garbo to the new device.

  • A few times I remember going to crop a photo and the app telling me it would remove the Motion part of the photo. Today I noticed I edited a Motion photo and it actually cropped the video in the motion data. the Result is literally just a cropped motion photo that retains the cropped motion. just thought that was near since for years the editor has just straight up removed the video when you cropped
