It's so nice to see them all growing, but this is just the truth, sorry.
  • Have you tried Memmy for iOS? My main phone is iOS, but I'm curious as to what may be better on Sync as I was a longtime android user. I do remember using Sync WAY back in the day so I could download a ton of reddit posts for plane rides lmao.

  • I'm sure it's great, it's just that the rest of the excellent FOSS apps don't have any advertising of any sort. You can support them with donations and such, which I would definitely recommend. I'm using Memmy for iOS.

Also, Material design is cool, but nothing special imo. If anything it just makes it easier to design a nice app, so not sure why I need to pay to remove ads when there are hella free beautiful alternatives.

I'm in no way saying that people can't choose a freemium style app, I just personally don't see the value. Maybe I'll try it out on my dev android phone at home later and see if there's something I'm missing.

  • Shiit, if you think about it, we kinda already have a social credit system in the US. It's less social I suppose, but does affect things that effect our social status, like being able to finance a car or house afforedably.

A customer who is short of cash gets put in chokehold and assaulted by bouncer. Poughkeepsie, NY.
  • Wow, I hadn’t seen that before. Terrible management and self control by the bouncer (though the manager apparently was fine with it, so perhaps most of the blame is to her). Apparently this resulted in the bar closing permanently. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
