  • Agree , ubuntu, mint and popos are just works distros with max number of apps available , flatpak ( tho controversial in the linux community) has also given good option for just works distros to be user friendly ! My non technical family members have been using linux for years now without any issues !

Will the cyber resilience act kill open source ?
  • Basically A foss product is not exempted if an employee ( does not need to be a tech employee) contributes to a foss prod , or if a company donates to them ! So even npm packages by individual coders who are employed say.by dominos need to take audit and deliver vulnerability free code .

Will the cyber resilience act kill open source ?
  • Just read the act then ! It keeps it vague enough to consider a person working in free time will be considered a commercial product

Will the cyber resilience act kill open source ?
  • Well if i am developing a product and I work for a corp or if my project is getting donation from a corp , it will be considered as a commerical project , it does not need me to be working on that product as part of my work !!

    5
  • Since the EU is bringing an act , that needs the products distributed to be flawless , and it applies to open source products too , if a single of their contributor / donor works for a corporate , what will be the future of FOSS in europe with this ?

www.androidauthority.com Looking for a Reddit alternative? Lemmy tell you, they currently kinda suck

I tried out a growing Reddit alternative, Lemmy, for a week, and its clear that federated apps aren't ready to replace Reddit yet.

    >TLDR: the article says , lemmy is confusing , too broken and kinda unusable coz servers run on whims.

While I have been active here since a month now , I have had nothing but only a positive experience on lemmy , what about you guys ?

I was wondering , if you will be ready to work fof an organisation that you oppose ideologically , for instance you are against big oil but you get a job interview in exxonmobil with good pay , would you consider it ?

*Edit : Recently a friend of mine got a marketing job for a company that had shady business practices , selling their product to gullible parents. Since it was a marketing job , the pay was good but my friend left it within a week , saying it does not suit his ideology.
