Thoughts on why small talk is so uniquely painful

    Some of these are more confounding than "how are you?" (are you... implying my heart is not... like ... red?) but asking actual questions to greet people is a really nice thing that I'd love to see more widely adopted:

  • @MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com The phrase "can't complain" referring to the fact that if I did, there would be consequences. I try to assume that if someone wants to know, they'll ask again when they hear a nonanswer, giving me more time to do the math.
