This is random, but chance encounters with animals. There's a paddock abutting my backyard that rarely gets used, but sometimes there are a couple of horses that get turned out into it. I'm always excited to see them and would love to meet them if they come to the fence line!
Also, I don't do this often, but yesterday I took myself out for tea. There's a cute tea cottage not too far away that offers a four-course afternoon tea. First course is quiche with dressed greens, second is a scone with clotted cream and lemon curd, third is a variety of finger sandwiches, and fourth course is a variety of dessert bites. So I brought my kindle and drank an entire pot of tea over the course of the meal. It was a real indulgence and definitely made me happy to be alive ;)
Oh wait you're the person that made that cute little purple purse! You did such a great job with it. I've been thinking of getting into leathercraft myself - I did it a bit like 30 years ago in junior high and remember liking it. Do you have any suggestions for getting started? Materials, patterns, websites?
Growing summer squash. I bought one tiny plant and stuck it in the garden bed, then absolutely neglected it for weeks. And now I have more squash than I know what to do with!
I eat clean 95% of the time, with one restaurant meal out per week most weeks (1/21 ≈ 5%), and I try to make that meal out reasonably healthy (e.g., grilled salmon, limited beer). I cook most meals from whole foods, including some veggies I'm growing in my garden (sooooo much yellow squash right now!). I try to get 125g protein and 25g fiber daily and limit my calories, sugar, and saturated fats. I drink at least 64oz water daily.
I weightlift heavy 3 times a week, plus I've recently added rebounding for cardio. I also try to stretch on my non-lifting days (lifting days have stretching built in).
I have a set routine every night before bed that helps me wind down - skincare, hair bonnet, lotion on feet/knees/elbows/hands, take my progesterone, and read my kindle until the sleepiness kicks in.
Despite the bedtime routine, I'm not a great sleeper anymore, so I take naps whenever I need them. My fitbit tells me that's 32% of days haha.
Phew, that must be a relief!
