  • Life is hard. Sadly, the world needs ditch diggers just as much as scientists and actors but young people are bombarded with the whole "be whatever you want" speeches instead of a bit of realism.

My turn for the Thursday complaints thread!
  • Exactly that. There's no winners, the train companies will just continue to crush workers and drive customers away while the papers and government seem convinced everyone now works from home.

My turn for the Thursday complaints thread!
  • Train strikes. People paid more than me who are incapable of living while making sure I earn less. Brilliant.

I know it's more about erosion of terms and conditions but I still get wound up.

Formula 1 chooses Pirelli tires: No Bridgestone comeback
  • If it was open and any team could approach any tyre manufacturer for a supply then I'd be all for it. That's a fair competition.

Inevitably the companies end up favouring one team over another as all they want is their sticker on the winning car. Much like when Ferrari's Bridgstone rubber was pretty much bespoke to them.

What is the best TV/movie service I can set up for someone who is not tech savvy and wants something that just works?
  • Agreed. My elderly mother has no ability with technology at all and out of all the devices I tried she took to the Roku stick the easiest.

I connected it to Emby and she's more than happy.

Ricciardo to replace De Vries at AlphaTauri from the Hungarian Grand Prix
  • He took the cash to sit on the sidelines rather than compete after a couple of seasons not performing.

Not exactly the form of someone even near the top of his game any more. Maybe the break was the mental reset he needed? I hope so, but I'm sceptical.

Silverstone boss warns against 'reckless' protests
  • I don't agree with the method of protest, but I'll give them credit for having the massive balls to run in front of 200mph cars and doing it in front of 100,000 that want to kick your head in once the marshalls have dragged them off the track.

Maybe the first lap should be done with touring cars... Just in case...
