Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff tests positive for Covid-19 days after joining Biden for July 4 celebrations
  • It's picking up again. I'm still recovering from getting it 3 weeks ago, Paxlovid almost took care of it, but I rebounded. It immediate went to pneumonia, and AFIB from it. I had extra boosters being immunocompromised and I'm glad I did. The first time I got it was way worse.

  • If farmers are the main barrier to the response because they're refusing to comply with safety measures and testing then shut off all government payments until they comply. Fine them. The way our government let's corporations and business bully them it's embarrassing.

Biden administration canceling student loans for another 160,000 borrowers
  • Yep, they took mine even when they weren't supposed to anymore for at least two months after I got them dismissed for TPD. When I tried to get back the overpayment they literally told me they can do anything they want and I would never get my money back. They were right. At least they never got the 27k back that was cancelled. Eat shit Nelnet.

Do go on with your generalizations that make you feel strong and powerful by lumping everyone in a large geographical region together. Especially great character to do so on the premise of people's suffering.

If you've been following the story about a trans man and high school student who was kicked out of the school play in my town then you'll be happy to know that after a bunch of people showed up at the SISD board meeting they decided to reinstate and issue a formal apology. https://www.kxii.com/2023/11/14/sherman-isd-board-trustees-votes-reinstate-original-cast-version-oklahoma/ Sorry if I did this wrong I'm old and trying to learn how to use Lemmy better.

Local student is being denied the role for not be assigned male at birth. Now they've decided that Oklahoma is too controversial of a play and includes graphic scenes not fit for minors so they're pulling the whole show. Bunch of asshats at Sherman, TX ISD.

Edit: I will try to answer any comments I can. I do not personally know the student. I can't really speak for trans folks as I'm just an ally who wants better for this kiddo and all trans people.
