couldn't use other app (lemmur) as it doesn't list lemmy.world 😢 using an older version of jerboa worked though 👍
there is only one other app on f-droid, I've avoided it since it has not been updated in almost a year. I'll give it a go 👍

installed Jerboa for Lemmy, but when I try to log in it complains that lemmy.world does not meet minimal version requirement.
The minimal version requirement is 0.18, but the server is running 0.17.4:

I feel like computers have gotten 1000x more powerful and still somehow slower and more annoying to use in the last 40 years.
the good old commodore 64 booted in 2 seconds. as soon as it was up, you could start writing commands; no login, no updates, no popups..
saving food scraps to make broth - it's good for reducing waste, but pointless for saving money - broth cubes cost nothing and the scraps will just take up space in the freezer that could be used for better cost saving activities.
