This is honestly what I expect to happen. Once the porn is banned, people will stop going there. It has a lot of info for obscure communities and tech communities, but eventually that will start to move to other places.

So, I guess it will slowly die out.

Years and years ago, there was a huge snowstorm. I played diablo 3 throughout the week with this guy from work and had a pretty decent time.

If it is not cheaper than x86 then people will just keep buying x86 computers.

I think it’s pretty comparable to consoles. They don’t even have a desktop mode and most often they need an update when you take it out of the box.

If you treat it like a console and just buy from the Steam store, then it’s exactly like a console.

Of course if you want to do more, sure there is a little effort, but then it would not be a good comparison to a console.

Didn’t they release all these games for free at one point?

I think things like the steam deck are their real competition at this point. If it were not for exclusives, why would you get a PlayStation over a pc/steamdeck?

I live in a third world Asian country. The public transport in the city is terrible. There are very few train stops and they move slowly.

You may have to wait for multiple train cars to come as there are so many people and when you finally get on one you are so jam packed that you literally can’t take a deep breath.

Ride shares cost as much as owning a car without the benefit of ownership. Also taking the bus here has long lines at rush hour and you may wait for over an hour to get onto a bus.

So having a car while it’s not necessary, I don’t think I can be blamed for it. It will literally save me hours of waiting for available public transportation.

The last time my wife and I took the train, while wearing masks, we both got Covid. We were vaccinated and had a booster and still got it. That alone made us decide to not take the train anymore as it’s too risky to do so.

We can pay maybe 6x as much on a ride share , but if we get Covid we are both out of work for at least a week. Not to mention the suffering.

I get it, this seems to be an instance where corporate interests and consumer interests align. I’m sure it will still collect a bunch of data from you, but that would happen anyway.

Gpt4all already lets you do this. You need to have at leave 8gb of unused memory to run it and it can be a bit slow, but it works well for the most part.

This way you can use gpt without sharing your data online and it will work without internet access as well.

The ones you run locally can be uncensored meaning, it will not avoid certain subjects that google and open ai deem not good to talk about.
