Tired still
  • Get a home sleep study. Insurance covers a CPAP with Dr prescription. But mental hurdle but man waking up fresh is worth it

Trying to build viable third parties by voting for them in presidential elections is like trying to build a third door in your house by repeatedly walking into the wall where you want the door to be.
  • This is the same tone set by the people who whined that we were refusing to vote for Biden and oh look now Biden isn’t in the race anymore because we refused to accept him.

Keep accepting the one candidate that they spoon in front of us without asking if we actually want that one

Another valuable life lesson from Elmo and friends!
  • That’s disingenuous. The property manager very much is NOT paying $30k for a new roof. The landlord is. The property manager just executes the maintenance plan the landlord is paying for.

The real problem here that these kinds of discussions usually miss is the system of laws that force everyone involved to treat housing as an investment. Housing is a necessity that the government should ensure availability of for all. Some countries get it right, like Germany where the laws pushed so much reasonably priced housing that rent isn’t even painful so tons of people don’t bother buying

What was the show you rushed home to watch after school?
  • As someone who did this through my entire childhood, I wish someone had dragged me to a club. I love games, loved me some Robotech. But damn I would rather have learned social interaction. It all worked out (spoiler: I learned to make 010101 turn into money)

Would you move to another country?
  • I mean, I did. Highly recommend. Spoiler alert almost all the non-USA people places a multinational company would offer to post you don’t have guns

Paris cycling numbers double in one year thanks to massive investment and it's not stopping
  • To a point. If you are the only rider, your risk of dying is very high, because no one around is expecting it. Sometimes the right choice is to keep driving until the infrastructure finally makes things safe.

    Phew, what a day!
  • Likewise. Doing taxes is easier for me than emptying my physical mail inbox. Literally. I only got through 90 percent of my inbox but man I filed early this year after more than 5 hours of forms

Desperate TikTok lobbying effort backfires on Capitol Hill
  • If it were true yeah. In reality they are just shitting themselves because people on TikTok are broadcasting the genocide funded by US tax dollars and literally using American made bombs

Expensive school uniforms don't make kids better at maths, so why are schools so focused on them?
  • Try and have a logical discussion. Graft is the problem and a system that allows it will produce it however it is easiest to express.

A uniform is just an idea. It can be an excuse for graft, or it can just be a simple dress code with multiple competing vendors. I’m sorry your system is corrupt but many aren’t.

Expensive school uniforms don't make kids better at maths, so why are schools so focused on them?
  • That’s some serious graft. But nothing to do with uniforms as a policy. My daughter’s public school has a uniform of sorts but it I just color and style based, not specific required brands

  • What we had was an excuse to spend unlimited money on weapons, destabilizing anti-business foreign governments, and demonizing unions and social programs.
