a single database for several services in proxmox?

  • I prefer one database server instance hosting different databases, for each client service one.

    • What operating system do you use for your home server? I’m planning to do unraid but what are the other options and why would you pick one or another?

  • FreeBSD

    • How do you secure your home lab?

  • Unattended updates can be tricky.

    Think of config changes which need manual adjustment, or a broken update. This is something you would probably not like to happen at night without notice. Could easily break your vital systems (e.g. homeassistant, authentication, vaults...)

    • what is everyone using as an LDAP server ?

  • OpenLDAP and Eclipse with Apache Directory Studio as plugin for GUI purposes
