Mines a little younger but going through similar phases. If he can’t sleep I let them cry for 5-10 minutes then come back and pat them. I recently had a stroke of genius and gave them a board book for bed. If they can’t sleep they get up and read the book until they’re tired again. That depends if your child likes that or not. Once my siblings dog came over and they chased it all around the house then slept really well, so I think exercise helps too.

Two things, one I chuckle that you say a bachelors is quite narrow but want to do PhD like work. A bachelors is the whole pie where you know the ingredients, a PhD is one bite but you know every atom of that bite. Two, a bachelors has plenty of room to take courses for fun. You should take a course on the environment or something related to plastic engineering. I worked hard my first few years in college so my fourth year I took whatever I wanted! :)

Seeking advice. I'm having trouble handling monthly finances and week budgets with multiple credit cards. What should I do?
I feel I should get rid of them or stop using them but most have good benefits so I am unsure what I should do. I tried using YNAB but it isn't how I think about money. I really need to stick to my budget but with my partner and child I feel money is constantly flowing out.
- Sams card great for Sams and gas. Free. Only use for the above.
- PNC unlim good all around and free.
- Older PNC card, told not to cancel because it is free for my credit. Only pay utils on it. Not worried about this one.
- Amazon card, 5% discount on amazon for family essentials, free.
- Amex, 95$, good all around, and great customer support.
I'm thinking I should possible cancel Amex and Amazon because they easily add up, then focus on just using my main PNC unlim card. Thoughts on this?
The Amazon discount and Amex purchase protection are both nice but having more than one with so many purchases as a family is stressful.

Favorite note taking method for research?
Mine is taking stream of conscious notes with citations. Them taking these notes after finishing the work and creating an organized two page summary. This helps me when I need to go back to the work, if I can’t get enough from my summary, I have my notes, if they aren’t enough then I really didn’t take good enough notes.
